Debuted for the 1986 model year, the 944 Turbo introduced improved aerodynamics, a reinforced gearbox, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension as well as a new turbocharged engine producing 220 HP. A turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces up to 220 HP and 243 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. Compared to a standard 944, the Turbo received stiffer chassis tuning and larger fixed 4-piston brakes paired with ventilated discs at each corner. The owner states the car was regularly serviced by Porsche specialists until 2007 and has been kept up to date on routine oil changes ever since. The fuel injectors were replaced at approximately 100k miles and the KLR & DME modules were replaced earlier in 2021.
