DT: 17k-Mile 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1

The ZR-1 was unveiled in 1990 as the ultimate high-performance version of the Corvette, equipped with an all-aluminum overhead cam LT5 V8 producing 375 HP. In 1990, the ZR-1 set multiple world endurance records covering 4,221.26 miles at an average speed of 175.885 miles per hour. This 1990 ZR-1 was said to be purchased by its first owner in California and acquired by the current owner in 2018, who subsequently performed a full service including new fuel injectors, a new clutch, and new tires. With just over 17k miles on the odometer, this 1990 Corvette ZR-1 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of New York.

This Corvette is finished in Black (41) with removable transparent fiberglass T-top panels. Compared to a standard 1990 Corvette, the ZR-1 featured a wider tail and a convex rear fascia with square tail lights. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, fog lamps, fender vents, and power-adjustable and heated side mirrors. The seller reports the full exterior has been ceramic coated and notes a minor scratch on the passenger side of the hood, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 17” aluminum “sawblade” wheels are dressed with Nitto NT555 G2 tires mounted in 2018.

The interior features two power-adjustable sport bucket seats upholstered in black leather accompanied by matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include automatic climate control, a trip computer, power windows and locks, cruise control, power heated side mirrors, a low tire pressure warning system, and a Delco-Bose Gold Series stereo with a cassette and CD player. The seller notes the amplifier has been rebuilt and the air conditioning blows cold.

The ZR-1 is powered by a fully aluminum 5.7L LT5 V8, which was designed in collaboration with Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. Up to 375 HP and 370 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a ZF six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The ZR-1 can accelerate from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds with a top speed of around 180 MPH. Performance features include steering, braking, and suspension systems designed in collaboration with Lotus, Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR) traction control, and a Bilstein FX3 adaptive suspension with three driving modes, Touring, Sport, and Performance. Included documents show a full service was completed by Sierra Chevrolet of Monrovia, California, in July of 2017 which included a refresh of the fuel injection system and new spark plugs at a cost of $4500. Additional service includes new oil cooler lines, new tires mounted in 2018, and a new clutch installed in 2020.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s books, and maintenance records.

@jdecker54 that is a reflection. If you watch the walk around video you will see there are no marks under the Corvette lettering on the rear bumper.
