Up for auction is this 1992 Land Rover Defender 110 finished in mint green over a brown custom leather interior. This 1992 example was imported to the United States from Cape Town, South Africa, where it was used as a safari vehicle by its original owner. Acquired by the current owner in 2018, this Defender since received a new custom leather interior, an upgraded sound system, new wheels, tires, and service by a specialty Land Rover shop. Equipped with a turbodiesel engine, manual transmission, and a host of off-road accessories, this Defender 110 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Texas.

This Defender is painted in a shade of mint green reminiscent of Jaguar’s Seafoam Green Metallic, with stainless steel diamond plates along the rocker panels, rear quarter panels, and hood. Exterior equipment includes front and rear steel bumpers, a swing-out rear tire carrier, a full-size roof rack with a ladder attachment, a propane bottle mount, LED headlights, LED turn signals, KBX black headlight bezels, and a black KBX grille. The seller reports a snorkel was installed at one time but has since been removed. The new 18” Defender Sawtooth wheels are finished in gray and mounted with BF Goodrich K02 all-terrain tires. Inspired by the King Ranch interior found in Ford’s F-Series pickup trucks, the interior of this 110 has been completely reupholstered in vintage-style brown leather along with a new headliner and matching loop carpeting.  Additions include Dynamat noise insulation, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a rear stainless steel storage box that houses a folding stainless table and pull-out drawer, a 10-gallon water storage tank with a spigot located on the rear bumper, and a new 6-speaker surround sound system.  The odometer has been replaced since the car was imported to the U.S. and currently shows just over 11k miles. The original odometer read 236,419 km (146,903 miles) at the time of replacement, therefore the true mileage is estimated at approximately 158k.

This Defender 110 is powered by a 2.5L Land Rover 200Tdi turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, which was factory rated at 113 Hp and 195 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The seller reports routine maintenance including regular oil and transmission fluid changes to have been carried out by the specialists at Austin Roverworks, of Austin, TX.  Some invoices are provided in the gallery along with images of the undercarriage.

This sale will include multiple keys, service records, import documentation, and a clean title. Having served its purpose as an authentic safari truck, this Defender 110 has been tastefully modified, well-cared-for, and is just waiting for a new owner to get behind the wheel and enjoy.
