Produced from 1991 to 1998, the Suzuki Cappuccino is a Japanese Kei-car renowned for its compact size, lightweight design, and retractable hardtop roof. Powered by a turbocharged 657cc three-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual, the Cappuccino has a curb weight of less than 1600 lbs. and achieves a 50/50 weight distribution when the cabin is fully occupied. Finished in Satellite Silver over a black leather interior, this 1992 Cappuccino features power windows, heating and air conditioning, an AM/FM radio with a cassette player, and more. This Japanese-market minicar is now being offered for auction by the seller out of Virginia showing 61k kilometers (just over 38k miles) on the odometer.
The Cappuccino features a front-mid engine rear-wheel drive layout with a removable hardtop that consists of three pieces, allowing for coupe, T-top, and full convertible configurations. The car’s hood, roof, roll bar, and lower front guard panels are all made of aluminum, and it measures 129.7″ long and 54.9″ wide in compliance with 1990-1998 Kei regulations, while weight is reportedly 725 kilograms (~1,600 pounds). Finished in Satellite Silver, this Cappuccino rides on 14” factory 7-spoke wheels wrapped in Dunlop tires. The seller notes upgraded HID headlights have been fitted, some rock chips can be seen around the car, and undercarriage corrosion is consistent with normal road-going use. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the righthand-drive cabin is upholstered in black leather and features Suzuki-branded floor mats, power windows, heating, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio with a cassette player. The seller notes that an aftermarket Nardi Torino steering wheel has been installed, along with aftermarket gauges mounted on top of the dashboard.
Powered by a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 657cc F6A three-cylinder engine, the Cappuccino sends up to 63 HP at 6,500 RPM and 63 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed MTX manual transmission. Stopping is handled by 4-wheel disc brakes.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@Bdubs yes we do!
I assume you have the import papers as well? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $2,481
@duncanimports Thank you!
@EnzosDad the title is in our name. We are a dealer and we have two locations, so for ease of organization we title all of our vehicles out of our Tennessee location
@duncanimports Sorry for beating on a dead horse! If I understand correctly, the car comes with a TN title, is that on your name or the prior owner's name? Are you a dealer?
Bid in the amount of $2,100
@Bdubs whether or not you can register it to drive on the road is going to depend on your specific state/locality laws. We do not handle titling and registration so we recommend you do your research about what would be required. The VIN is not 17 digits because of its origins in Japan in the 90s
Is the car registered to drive on roads? That VIN isn’t 17 digits, so I’m trying to understand how I’m going to get insurance to cover it or NJ to register it. Title is just ownership as far as I’m aware.
@tradefreak we did not paint it ourselves but sometimes things like that are done to prevent rusting. As far as we can tell, there isn’t any rust
The undercarriage appears to have been subjected to a terrible rattle can paint job. Was that done in Japan or the US, and is it covering up rust?
@Bdubs it’s a Tennessee title, but yes it is the same!
Thanks for the quick reply! I assume that is on the VA title as the VIN? I’m just asking because NJ be a pain on titles. Thanks
@Bdubs it’s in between the engine and trunk pictures on a blue tag. It’s called the Chassis number
Bid in the amount of $1,500
I don’t know if I missed it going through the pictures, but do you have on of the VIN? Thanks. Did see a 6’3” on YouTube driving one of these, a little tight and definitely roof off.
@2mAn there is some normal corrosion but rust is minimal if any. You can review the pictures of the engine bay and the underside toward the bottom of the pictures to the right of the listing.
@duncanimports Hows the Rust situation? A lot of these have rust
@Bdubs not that we are aware of!
Thank you - any leaks or other issues you are aware of?
@Bdubs Its both! The vehicle can be configured as a hard top, T-top, Targa, or convertible. That means that there are three removable roof pieces, and the rear window retracts depending on which configuration you are going for. As for your height, its hard to say as it depends on your proportions, but the gentleman driving the vehicle in the last video is 5 foot 10 inches.
Can a 6’2” guy fit in it? Also, it says retractable hard roof, but then removable - which is it? Thanks
@DonM Yes! The vehicle currently has a U.S. title
Has this Japanese market car been registered and titled in the US?
