For the final year of third-generation “Fox-Body” Mustang production in 1993, Ford’s newly established Special Vehicle Team (SVT) created a new Ford Mustang SVT Cobra featuring a 302ci V8, a 5-speed manual transmission, a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential, power disc brakes, sport-tuned dual exhausts, articulated sport seats, and 17” cast aluminum wheels. One of 4,993 produced in total, this example is finished in Vibrant Red over an Opal Grey leather interior and is equipped with the optional Preferred Equipment Package. Sold new from Ken Garff Ford of Murray, Utah, this collectible SVT Cobra is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois with just 358 miles showing on the odometer.

This Mustang is one of 414 SVT Cobras finished in Vibrant Red Clearcoat and features a rear spoiler, flared fenders and rockers, polished dual exhaust outlets, dual black mirrors, integrated front fog lights, and Cobra badging on the front fenders. The car rides on factory Turbine-style 17” cast aluminum wheels mounted with Goodyear Eagle ZR45 tires. The seller describes the car to be preserved in excellent overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this SVT Cobra features a pair of articulated sport seats in Opal Grey leather with matching rear seats, carpets, and door panels. Accessories include power lumbar support, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated visor mirrors, a console armrest, and split-folding rear seats. The car also came optioned a rear window defroster, a premium AM/FM CD stereo, and the Preferred Equipment Package which adds air conditioning, front floor mats, and power windows, mirrors, and door locks.

Up to 235 HP and 280 lb.-ft of torque comes from a 302ci OHV V8 engine featuring a Cobra-specific upper intake manifold and camshaft, GT40 cast-iron cylinder heads, aluminum roller rockers, and a 65mm throttle body. The rear wheels are driven through a BorgWarner T5 5-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. Stopping power comes from power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and the chassis features an SVT-specific suspension with custom-tuned shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars.
