We are pleased to present this 1993 Jaguar XJS Convertible 4.0 finished in Glacier White over a tan leather interior. The XJS was intended to replace the legendary E-Type and saw a 21-year production run from 1975 to 1996. For, 1991 the XJS received a styling update and an improved 4.0 AJ6 straight-six engine. One of only a very small portion to have been factory equipped with an optional 5-speed manual transmission, this 1993 Convertible has been cared for by two documented owners and is now being offered for auction. y its seller out of New Jersey showing approximately 96k miles on the odometer.

This example comes finished in Glacier White with a power-operated convertible top in tan and 15″ silver basketweave wheels dressed in a set of newer Cooper Cobra tires. A few scuffs and traces of oxidation are present around the rear wheel wells, and the CARFAX report indicates an accident to have occurred in September 2000. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in tan leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include power-adjustable seats, cruise control, a factory AM/FM/cassette stereo, an onboard computer, climate control, power windows and door locks, and wood veneers on the dash, doors, and center console. The seller notes a few small cracks on the passenger side of the dashboard and confirms all gauges, lights, and accessories remain fully functional.

Power comes from a 4.0L AJ6 inline-six which produces up to 219 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a seldom-seen 5-speed manual gearbox. With its last update, the XJS received outboard rear brakes, replacing the more complicated inboard disks of previous models. The CARFAX report highlights over 20 service history records dating as far back as 1998. In September 2021, the vehicle received new rear shock absorbers, a new vacuum switching valve, a new throttle position sensor, and a new set of tires.

This sale will include a clean title. With its exceedingly rare 5-speed manual gearbox, this desirable late-model XJS presents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

@Afine Yes I have included the defects, both rear wheel wells have some minor rust and scratches, looks be from road debris. See photos 33,34,35. As far as the center cap on the passenger rear wheel, I do not have one wish I did!

  • Afine (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Also pic#34 clearly shows rust that can be seen on several different pics as well . Please , comment on the rusted places that need attention. Thank you

@SailorMike Thank you for the tip! I can envision that angle and I think you are correct! As far as the wheels I do believe these are the original. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • SailorMike 2 years, 1 monthago

Beautiful! Always loved these. Perfect spec, too. Are those the original wheels?
Tip: All those pix and you missed THE DEFINITIVE photo of this gorgeous car. #16 comes the closest. Just get a little lower and a little further back, directly off the starboard beam and vertically even with the top of the wheels. Keep the top down. You'll be amazed. No other car looks like this one from that angle (straight-on side view).
