In 1993, Land Rover introduced a limited run of 500 Defender 110 long-wheelbase models for the United States market. This exclusive series, known as the North American Specification (NAS) Defender 110, remains the only Defender 110 variant ever sold new in North America, making it highly sought after by collectors. This example, designated as the last of 500 produced for the single model year, is powered by a 3.9-liter fuel-injected V8 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. Refinished in Willow Green over a gray cloth upholstery, it features a front brush guard, roof rack with ladder, external roll cage, 16” steel wheels, Alpine stereo, and more. With approximately 52k miles on the odometer, this rare and iconic Defender 110 NAS is now being offered for auction by its seller in Florida.

Originally finished in Alpine White as configured for all NAS Defender 110s, this example was repainted in Willow Green during the 1990s. It features a front brush guard, a roll cage, a roof rack with a ladder, side steps, and a hitch receiver. A limited-edition plaque on the rear proudly displays “500/500,” marking its unique place in the production run. It rides on color-coordinated 16” steel wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires, with a matching spare mounted on the swing-out rear door. The seller notes some areas of corrosion and rust, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior features front bucket seats, a second-row bench, and four rear jump seats upholstered in gray cloth with vinyl accents. It has air conditioning, an analog clock, hand-crank windows, a lockable center console, and an Alpine stereo. The seller notes a minor tear in the rear seat but confirms that the headliner shows no sagging. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order with no warning lights illuminated.

Power comes from a 3.9-liter fuel-injected V8 engine, which delivers a factory-rated 180 HP and 227 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. Power-assisted front discs and rear drums facilitate stopping power. Maintenance in early 2021 included a rebuilt distributor, replacement of the fan clutch, and new water pump hoses, while an oil change was last performed in 2022.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a super cool defender, a true collector's piece being the last one of the production line of the North American Spec Defender Series. It runs and drives great & is very much in original condition.”

@Singer2020 hi there, all of the carpeting is fully glued down from new and still is. Yes it was resprayed in willow green in 1993 as per family request. They painted all of there cars in green. It’s actually a cool colour in it compared to the original alpine white. Yes I’ll attach a picture of the battery box area, ive a trickle charger connected to batt. There is some rust issues but all of the NAS defenders it was there main issues unfortunately.
Any other questions I’d be happy to answer.
    Thanks

do you have a picture for the battery box and driver seat box? Also picture from under each mat where we see bare aluminum boards? not sure why they repainted it Willow as they al came in Alpine White. It seems the rust penetrated everywhere including the cross members, doors and all floor boards.

@useppaisland hi there, yes it has A/C and it blows, it’s a 1993 vehicle so the A/C system stays true to the year of the vehicle not like new cars.
Yes it has some rust at the rear, being an over 30 year of car it has some age related marks but overall it runs and drives great. Lots of these NAS Defender are not on the road anymore so are super rare and becoming even rarer as the years go on.

Please let me know if you have any other questions I’d be happy to answer.

    Thanks

@Einsteiger thank you, yes it’s a super special vehicle

  • useppaisland (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

Does the vehicle have air conditioning and does it blow cold?

There is a lot of rust on the rear of the vehicle which is typical of old land rovers. Expensive to repair correctly because of the location of the rust.

Outstanding example. The longer wheelbase is a huge plus. Good luck with this one! (But you likely won’t need it. 😉)

Hi all, welcome to the auction of our NAS (North American Spec) Defender 110. This defender was bought from a family who purchased it new in California back in 1993. It spent its life between Malibu and park city and is in complete original condition. It has all the extras that came with it from new and a folder full of invoices & paperwork which include original invoice from Land Rover to original owners. This defender is truly a piece of Land Rover history being the last one off the production line No.500/500. A super cool defender with a whole heap of goodies to go with it that us car guys dream of. Happy bidding and please any questions I’d be happy to answer.
    Thanks
