A lightweight performance-focused variant of the Porsche 964 developed exclusively for the U.S. market, the 911 RS America was stripped of heavy accessories and features a minimalist interior with cloth Sport Seats, the M030 Sport Suspension package, 17” Cup 1 wheels, and a distinctive whale tail rear spoiler. One of only 701 examples produced in total, this 1993 RS America is finished in Black and equipped with an optional limited-slip differential and air conditioning. Showing under 22k miles on the odometer, this rare and highly collectible RS America is now being offered for auction out of California.
Based on a contemporary 964 Carrera 2, the RS America comes without a sunroof, power mirrors, or a rear window wiper to minimize weight. It features a fixed whale tail spoiler, “RS” logos on the rear quarter panels, and 17” Cup 1 wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 9” wide at the rear. This example is finished in Black, one of four standard colors offered by the factory. It rides on BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires from 2022. The CARFAX report shows very minor damage to the left front end in 2012, and the seller states minor paintwork was performed on the left front fender as a result. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The RS America’s interior features cloth-covered Sport Seats along with lightweight carpeting and flat door panels from the European Carrera RS model. It came without rear seats, cruise control, or radio as standard equipment, although this example was factory-equipped with an optional air-conditioning system. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, red seatbelts and door pull loops, power windows and door locks, and red and black coco floor mats.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine delivers up to 247 HP and 229 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The RS America comes standard with the M030 Sport Suspension package which includes progressive coil springs, a larger front stabilizer bar, and upgraded shock absorbers from the 911 Turbo. The seller indicates all routine maintenance is up to date and there are no outstanding service items at this time.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A very nice car from a Southern California collector.”

@steveh—the rubber liner where the bonnet meets the front bumper looks like it’s lifting on the driver’s side. Can you please take some up close images of this, and also from the inside with the bonnet open? Some pics of the body impact points in the frunk would be nice too.
Also, the bonnet Porsche emblem lacks just about all its color. Is this related to the minor accident?
Thank you.

Maybe it’s just the lightning but the paint around the passenger door handle looks mottled (pic #36). Can you take additional close up pics of both doors focusing on the door handles but in different lighting? Thank you.
