Introduced in 1977, the Porsche 928 grand touring car underwent its final evolution in 1991 with the unveiling of the high-performance GTS version which featured widened fenders, larger brakes, and a more powerful 5.4-liter V8 engine. This Porsche 928 GTS is one of 190 examples produced for North America in 1993 and is believed to be one of only 6 to have been sold new in Canada with a 5-speed manual transmission during the model year. It comes finished in Black Metallic over a Magenta leather interior and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 88k kilometers (54,680 miles) showing on the odometer.
The 928 GTS is characterized by its wide rear fender flares, Cup Design aero mirrors, a body-color rear spoiler, and a continuous taillight band across the rear. This 1993 example is finished in Black Metallic (L738) and features optional side protection moldings. Other equipment includes pop-up headlights with washers, front fog lights, a roof-mounted antenna, a rear window wiper, a dual-tipped exhaust outlet, and factory 17” Cup Design alloy wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The car rides on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2021. The seller indicates the car’s exterior has been completely refinished and remains in very good overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this 928 features a rare Magenta leather (PZ) interior with matching carpets and headliner. Accessories include optional supple leather seat upholstery, heated 8-way power front seats with memory, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a heated rear window, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB stereo. The seller reports all gauges and accessories are working properly.
This 928 GTS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter M28/49 V8 DOHC engine featuring four valves per cylinder and an output of up to 345 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a rare 5-speed manual transaxle and Porsche’s electronically controlled limited-slip differential (PSD). The seller indicates that the vehicle’s original stamped maintenance booklet is included along with some other service records and receipts that are mostly in French.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, some service records, and a clean title.

@Tartan43 I just uploaded the pictures to PCAR, they should have them up soon. Checking with a technician on the wiring.
Some aftermarket wiring is visible in pics #41 and #63 - any idea what those are for? Aftermarket stereo, alarm, radar? Also, can you please add a closeup picture of the center console. Thanks.
@Mose1234 All we could get on the repaint from the previous custodian of this GTS: "Unfortunately, we were not told when the repaint was done as we bought it from a dealer who took it on trade and didn’t get any info. I do know it’s a great example that was well sorted. We had it dry ice-blasted and paint correction done back in the summer of 2022.
We believe this example to be one of the ‘Tony Lapine’ cars based on the color combination. That’s the reason the previous owner bought it."
@Mose1234 We’re checking and we’ll get back to you.
When was it repainted? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $20,000
That is ONE HOT MOMMA !
@LuckysDad The provided receipts are all we have and we do not know why it was repainted. However, the paint is done to a high standard.
@zollerm I'm not aware of that video. Could you please send me a link?

Any idea why the car was repainted?
Sir, was this car the subject of a YouTube video awhile back showing the car's undercarriage being dry- ice cleaned and the interior detailed. It looks as if it was...??? The car looks great by the way.
