Topping the model range of BMW’s E31-generation 6-Series grand touring car, the 850CSi is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.6-liter S70 V12, the lowest-production BMW engine to date. This 1994 example is one of 225 BMW 850CSi models built for the U.S. market over a two-year production run and was originally sold by Nick Alexander BMW in Los Angeles, California. The car is finished in Black II over a matching leather interior and equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, upgraded Brembo brakes, 17” BMW Style 21 “throwing star” wheels, heated power seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. It was purchased by the second owner in 1997 who sold the car to its current owner in 2021. Serviced in 2023 with new upper front control arms, engine belts, fluids, filters, and more, this rare U.S. market BMW 850CSi is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 52k miles showing on the odometer.
The aerodynamic, wedge-shaped bodywork of the E31 6-Series is characterized by its pop-up headlamps, wide stance, and pillarless window design. The 850CSi features unique bumper covers, quad exhaust outlets, and a lower ride height than other E31 models. This example is finished in Black II paint with a custom blue pinstripe. Equipment includes BMW Motorsport door handles, fog lights, an electric sunroof, red-painted brake calipers, and 17” BMW Style 21 wheels with directional “throwing star” covers. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were installed in 2021 and the seller describes the exterior as in excellent overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior is appointed with a four-spoke leather steering wheel, wood trim, heated power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a car phone, an onboard computer, and a factory AM/FM cassette radio paired with a trunk-mounted CD player. The cabin filters were replaced along with the glove box door latch in 2023. All accessories and electrical features are said to be working properly.
This 850CSi derives up to 372 HP and 402 lb.-ft of torque from a naturally aspirated S70B56 V12 DOHC engine. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Compared to other E31 models, the 850CSi equips a sport-tuned suspension and revised speed-sensitive power steering ratios. This example also features upgraded Brembo brakes with cross-drilled rotors. Service performed in 2023 includes new upper front control arms, new engine belts, air filters, hood struts, wiper blades, an oil change, and flushing the coolant, power steering, and brake fluid.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

When I took the paint meter readings the car was dirty and some pics how as if it was chips, but no the paint does NOT have any chips. On tomorrow Monday I will take some additional photos with the car washed and post them again.
Have a nice Sunday!!
Can we get some close up pictures of the paint on the front of the car, in the meter reading pictures it looks like there are many issues with chips, but the other pictures you can’t tell. I am very interested in this car, always wanted a CSI.

@amart0890 - I didn’t see any paint meter readings in the pictures. Is the paint original? Any areas repainted or resprayed? Is it possible to get paint meter readings before end of auction?
Does the car have any PPF?

@theatriks It depends if all the old coolant was flushed out well likely nothing as these are both quality coolants. If they are mixed and incompatible then there's a risk of plugging radiators etc. I'm not a chemist but it's also dependent on what type of water the coolant was diluted with. I didn't mean to open up a can of worms hear just wanted to note that the spec was incorrect and ask the question as at times the Tech may have put the correct stuff in the car but the paperwork was incorrect.
Being that Mercedes changed their coolant spec a few times since 2008 and now uses G12++/ G40 in some cars and previously used G48 it's likely that this coolant is fine to use in this vehicle with the caveat that the old stuff was flushed out sufficiently. I'm not a doctor but I play one on television.
@Gefiltefunk so what damage can occur from using the wrong coolant ?
Bid in the amount of $13,750
to Gefilfunk, thanks for your advice !
@amart0890 that’s not the proper spec for this vehicle… I would highly suggest correcting that. This vehicle should have Blue G48 coolant in it!
to FORMULAONE: This car was Registerd and Titled in Florida since 11/24/21, and it does not require any "emission inspections"
to Gefiltefunk,The car actually has the "Antifreeze Coolant G013 ROWE" as the invoice clearly shows it"
@FORMULAONE my bad G48 is not glycerine based. This car nonetheless should have g46 coolant in it not a VAG spec G13 coolant. Thanks
@amart0890
As a California residence, surely like to know the California TAG
status since it expired on 2020 and, now heavy penalties are involved
covering four years of none registered, hopefully it was reported as NOV
None Operational Vehicle. . .
Would you know if the optional NOP exercised?
Does this AUCTION offer a CA title or a FL Title?
@amart0890 Thanks for the reply however the question wasn't answered? Was the invoice incorrect or does the car have the incorrect coolant in it?
@FORMULAONE Well aware of the differences of these coolant specs. Your comment was a direct quote from google. The issue is that the spec for this car is G48 which is also a glycerin base. It is blue in color. G13 is not the proper coolant spec for this vehicle.
@Gefiltefunk
The invoice says G13 which has a purple/violet color and has the same exceptional cooling and antifreeze performance as G12++. The main difference is manufactured using glycerin instead of glycol.
Bid in the amount of $13,500
to Gefiltefunk, thanks for your observation !
@amart0890 regarding the invoice in photo 82 that states the coolant was flushed; it states G013 coolant which is VAG and some new MB product coolant. This car should have G48 Coolant in it. Can you verify if the coolant is Blue (Correct) or Pink/ Magenta (incorrect)? Thanks
to Chipper, 36 additional photos (taken yesterday) were posted, enjoy it!!!!
