Now available for auction is this 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster finished in Viper Red over a grey leather interior.  Designed by Tom Gale at Chrysler's Advanced Design Studios, the original Dodge Viper was created at the behest of Bob Lutz following his suggestion of building a modern interpretation of the Shelby Cobra.  A concept was unveiled at the 1989 North American International Auto Show before the first pre-production model made its debut in 1991 at the Indianapolis 500 with Carroll Shelby behind the wheel.  Power comes from a massive V10 engine developed in collaboration with then-Chrysler subsidiary Lamborghini. This 1994 example was acquired by the seller in March of 2021 and is now being offered for auction while showing just over 19k miles on the odometer.

This first-generation Viper features a tubular steel frame with composite molded fiberglass bodywork finished in Viper Red.  The seller describes the paint to be in fantastic condition overall, noting some typical bubbling on the side-pipe covers resulting from exhaust heat.  The front splitter is also said to have been refinished under prior ownership for cosmetic purposes. Additional photos can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX. A true barebones performance car, the original Viper had no exterior-mounted door handles or key cylinders and was delivered with a simple canvas soft top and vinyl zipper windows. Other details include dual side-exit exhaust pipes, integrated front fog lights, black painted brake calipers with white RT/10 script, and chrome 17” aluminum alloy tri-spoke wheels. The wheels come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires bearing date codes from 2017.

The spartan interior is fitted with a pair of manually adjustable sport seats trimmed in grey leather with a matching center console, dashboard, and door panels. The first-generation Viper offers basic amenities including a glove box, air conditioning, a 12-volt outlet, a speaker system, and a suite of analog instrumentation. An upgraded Alpine radio has been installed and the seller confirms that all gauges, lights, and accessories remain fully functional.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 8.0L V10 engine designed in collaboration with Lamborghini.  As much as 400 HP and 465 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels by way of a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The CARFAX report lists services dating as far back as 2003 and the seller states there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title. One of the most celebrated American sports cars of all time, this low-mileage first-generation Viper presents an excellent opportunity to own an appreciating modern classic.

Hello all....thanks for taking a look at my RT/10.....I will be watching the auction and will do my best to answer any questions that you may have about the car. It is a good honest never mistreated example. cheers!
P.S. I do realize that the front wheels should be flipped. It was that way when I purchased it. Really did not bother me so much. It turned out to be a great conversation starter at car shows.
