We are pleased to present this 1994 Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 finished in Speed Yellow over Black leather. Introduced in January of 1993 with a turbocharged version of the 3.6L M64 engine making over 350HP, the 964 Turbo 3.6 became one of the fastest production cars in the world with customer orders immediately surpassing production capability. One of less than 1,500 examples produced in total, this 1994 Turbo was originally ordered through Mizwa Motor Sales Corp., the sole Japanese Porsche distributor, before it was sold to a private museum in Japan where it remained up until 2015 when it was purchased by a private collector in the U.K. Having recently made its way to the United States earlier in 2021, this Turbo has been fully serviced and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with just over 85,151 km (52,911 mi) showing on the odometer.
This 964 came finished in the eye-catching color of Speed Yellow (X4), one of the most iconic and recognizable shades of the era. Characteristic details of the Turbo model include wide fenders, a Tea Tray rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, and Cup design mirrors. Further distinguishing the 3.6 model is a special chromium rear logo, RS center tail section, and red brake calipers tucked behind 18” Speedline 3-piece wheels. As a Rest of World (RoW) example, this 964 also features European-style indicator lights on the front fenders. The seller describes this 964 to be in excellent showroom-like condition and notes the front hood has been previously refinished to address some road-going chips. The wheels also come dressed in a set of brand-new Yokohama Advan Apex tires. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, you will find a highly original and very well-preserved black leather interior. Factory features include labeling and gauges in English, an electric sunroof, power-operated seats, an onboard computer, an 88AMP high output battery, and “Turbo 3.6” embroideries in the rear seatbacks. The black carpet floormats also feature contrasting embroideries in yellow, and the original Blaupunkt radio has been retained. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Power is derived from a turbocharged 3.6L M64 flat-six engine generating as much as 360 HP and 384 lb.-ft torque when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 4.7 seconds with a top speed of over 170 MPH. Compared with the original 964 Turbo, the 3.6 model offered a lowered retuned suspension as well as an improved braking system with larger rotors and red 4-piston Brembo calipers derived from the Turbo S.
The car is said to have been fully serviced and safety checked in preparation for sale and there has been no additional running time since the maintenance was completed. An extensive collection of records and documentation is said to accompany the sale as well. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
The sale will include a set of two keys with yellow leather keychains, the original owner's manuals and warranty booklet, a car cover, toolkit, first aid kit, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, and a clean title. A stunning example of one of the rarest, most iconic, and sought-after Porsches ever produced, this 964 Turbo 3.6 would make a fine complement to any world-class collection.

Great question and much appreciated as we come to the end of this auction. This Porsche is currently titled, registered and plated in another State. As noted below, a California bidder my bid on the car but it is with the strict understanding that the car must then go to Wallace Labs, GNK or another official CARB certified conversion center to meet CARB certification. Or the car must leave the State of California for legal registration elsewhere and do so by a bonded and licensed ITB carrier.
We are a California bonded and licensed dealers and the sale will be strictly under the guidelines of the California Department of Motor Vehicles at all times.

Good afternoon PCARMARKET Porsche fans,
I have just emailed my auction managers a photo of the paint meter readings. They confirm the front bonnet near the bonnet badge has been resprayed and further indicate all of the other panels have all original paint.
Other than the front bonnet front area, all meter readings are from 5.0 to 7.5 and consistent from panel to panel.
The photo should posted to the gallery shortly.

Actually you can see the air compressor in photo 153. Its the white plastic wrapped box. I did not have the heart to remove it or the first aid kit form the original delivery wrapped cellophane. It might be the only example that never had either opened up since delivery new.

Yes, it is the exact same as a German Market Model and has the standard AC system. It was fully serviced during the full services at Vollig and blows Ice-Cold.

I got your voice message. The white and red wrapped items in photos 153 and 154 are the original first aid kit and spare tire compressor.
The reason they look different is that both are still sealed in their original delivery plastic cellophane wrapping and neither has ever been opened up.
I missed on this as well when we were first inventorying all of the extra items the car came with.
Shipping with InterCity would $2,250.

The outside photos and video were done prior to the car receiving full services, safety checks and the new tires. “L737 MEP” was the car’s UK Registration number. The car now has US State plates, title and registration. Those outdoor photos and video were taken near the Miramar Marine Corp Air Depot. The shots on the rack with the new tires were taken at Vollig in San Diego.
I am glad everyone seems to like the video. They are really fun to make and it is a great area for test drives.

The car is being inspected Monday afternoon and the inspector will be doing paint meter readings.
I will try and get photos and post them.
All meter readings are 5.5 to 7.5 except for the front bonnet wich is 10.5. The car has never been in any accidents and is both rust free and all matching numbers.
The front bonnet on all 964s is an easy target for small micro stone chips and if you find one all these years later that is perfect, it is probably the first sign that it has been repainted and color sanded down to match.
I am sure this one received a light respray specifically to deal with the stone chips.

Great question and observation! Much appreciated. The car is already here in the States, in our San Diego showroom. No EPA / DOT / DHS or US Customs fees or expenses are owed.
This Porsche has new title and registration in hand. It is 50 State Legal under the 25 year rule but will not pass a California Smog.
If you are from California and wish to bid, you will be doing so knowing that unless the car is sent to GNK, Wallace Labs or another California CARB certified facility, legal delivery must take place out of the State of California.
We are a 30 year, bonded and licensed California dealer and are required to follow all State guidelines to the letter.
All out of State and out of CONUS area bidders may bid with zero restrictions as they see fit.
We can assist with full transfer of current title and registration into any other State title and registration as well as assist with new ownership documents for any non USA buyer.

There is no epa or compliance work done because it is both more than 21 and 25 years old?

Good morning PCARMARKET Porsche fans everywhere and welcome to our latest exclusive auction!
We worked tirelessly to acquire this particular 964 Turbo 3.6 chasing it all the way from Japan to the UK and then patiently waiting for more than 60 days for it to arrive and another three weeks while full services, safety checks and new tires were fitted.
It remains completely stock, as delivered new. It is of course all matching numbers, rust and accident free and all paint is original to the car other than a retouched front bonnet.
A 20lb box of books, records, documentation going back to new accompanies the car. The original owner painstakingly acquired a massive cache of original sales brochures, dealer documents and other related material specific to the cult-classic Turbo 3.6.
The car is further documented not only by a COA but the original internal Porsche assembly records.
This Porsche is available for any manner of inspection and test-drive and I can assist with full, door-to-door shipping quotes both locally as well as worldwide.
This is the fourth Turbo 3.6 to come our way this year. We had seven last year and untold numbers previous to that going back to the mid 1990s, when these first became one of our all time favorite Turbo Porsches.
