Representing the second-generation BMW M3, the E36 features well-balanced handling and an S50 inline-six engine, along with classic BMW styling. This 1995 example comes finished in Alpine White over Black Nappa leather and features a 5-speed manual transmission as well as numerous dealer-installed Dinan upgrades including an airflow meter, exhaust, Stage 3 chip, cold air intake, and throttle body. Garage stored since new, this M3 Coupe is now being offered for auction by its original owner out of Illinois while showing just over 54k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Alpine White (300) and can be distinguished from the standard 3-Series by its more aggressive bumpers, side skirts, aerodynamic mirrors, and M3 badging. Equipment includes a factory sunroof, fog lights, and aftermarket Dinan-branded dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 17” Style 22 wheels mounted with Toyo Proxes Sport tires with 2023 date codes. The seller reports one hole in the lower front grill. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black Nappa leather upholstery with desirable “Vader” sports seats. Equipment includes an M-sport multifunction steering wheel, a HiFi speaker system, a cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted 6-disc CD changer, an electric sunroof, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, an on-board computer, and cruise control. The seller notes very slight wear on the driver’s seat bolster and reports all gauges, electronics, and accessories to be working properly.
The S50B30US 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine is rated at 240 HP from the factory and drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller adds that a Dinan airflow meter, exhaust, Stage 3 chip, cold air intake, and throttle body were installed at Bavarian Motor Village (BMW of Rochester Hills) in June of 2000. The seller also reports that the car just received service at The Werk Shop including new tires, a new battery, new fuel injectors, an oil change, and a brake fluid flush.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, original window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, all service records, a Dinan installation receipt, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "This is an extremely special E36 M3. I have owned it since new with less than 5,000 miles added in the last 17 years. The car has been stored covered in a single-car well-isolated garage in order to maintain its fantastic condition. The Dinan modifications were installed at BMW of Rochester Hills in June of 2000 and completely transformed the driving experience. The sound and response are amazing. If you are looking for an E36 M3, you aren't going to find many better."

The clutch has not been replaced. They did not comment specifically on condition or wear of the clutch. I brought it to them to go through and address anything that they felt it needed. So my assumption is that beyond what was done, everything else was in proper condition. The clutch functions perfectly fine with no evidence of any issues at all.
Has the clutch been replaced. And did the Werk Shop comment on its condition or wear. Thx
Headliner pictures have been added. Let me know if any additional questions.
I bought a 95 M3 new in 95 in Basalt Black metallic paint. Drove it for 5 years and loved it. Did a 6000 mile trip in 13 days with my wife, 2 kids and luggage and at 1 poor on a long lonely stretch of Wyoming Highway got it to 145 mph. These are great cars and this looks like a beautiful example. I’m sure whoever buys this will enjoy it! GLWA
@bm6w
The headliner itself is in very good condition. However I recently noticed that it is losing its adhesion. It is completely uniform throughout, and nothing falling, so I had not noticed. I have been exploring trying to get it redone, but looks like the timing would be outside of the scope of the auction, so will be as is at this point. When I am back either later tonight or tomorrow morning, I will get some pictures added.
Nice car. Hows condition of headliner?

@collectorcars
I do not have access to a paint meter and will be out of town until late tomorrow evening. I can 100% guarantee though that it is all original paint, and the condition of the paint is excellent.

@seller paint meter to confirm original paint?
Bid in the amount of $21,000
I just bought a 95 M3 with 4X's the number of miles as this one. It made a 9-hr trip home with no issues at all, and I am loving it more each time I drive it! I've added a short throw shifter and aftermarket steering wheel, and it makes the car even more fun to drive!
@t.sandin63
Yes, all original suspension. There was nothing that was an area of concern from the recent service at the Werk Shop, and no issues at all with suspension performance.
A little concerned about the deep rust on a lot of those suspension points and mounting areas. looks like original suspension too?
@jonnyslasher
Undercarriage shots have been added. I took these myself today, so forgive my lack of photography skills. But hopefully these should give you a good perspective.
@tonymeyer thank you!
@jonnyslasher
There were supposed to have been undercarriage shots done with the balance of the photos, but I have not received them. Working on getting it on a lift tomorrow for new photos, so more to come.
@tonymeyer possible to get some undercarriage shots of the car?
One other thing of note, this is a Nov 1995 build. With the introduction of OBDII for 1996, the 96 M3 was delayed due to figuring out how to incorporate OBDII, while still at least maintaining the base power numbers. To compensate, BMW continued to produce 1995 M3s through the end of the 1995 calendar year, even after regular 3 series production had changed over to the 1996 model. So while a 1995 M3, the base is a 1996 3 series, and thus includes all of the refreshes for the 3 series in general that went into effect for 96. Anything M3 specific is still all 1995 spec.
Thanks Kevinmr, that is pretty funny!
In regards to the Dinan modifications, there is a scan of a page from the Dinan brochure included in the images showing the horsepower and torque curve comparisons with all five of the modifications. Peak horsepower is 273 at 6,500 (versus 240 at 6,000), with a peak horsepower gain of 39 at 6,750. Peak torque is 266 at 4,500 (versus 239 at 4,000), with a peak horsepower gain of 29 at 5,500. As you get above 4,000 RPMs, you really feel the difference. The visceral feel and chassis/engine responsiveness are completely grin inducing.
Beautiful car. I loved the Dinan installation receipt...
