Up for auction is this 1996 Jaguar X300 XJ6 4.0-Litre finished in Kingfisher Blue Metallic over a Light Cream leather interior.  Produced from 1968-2019, the XJ has long represented Jaguar’s flagship full-size luxury sedan.  The first XJ developed entirely under the ownership of Ford, the X300 series was a return to traditional Jaguar styling with an emphasis placed on improved quality and reliability.  This 1996 example carries Jaguar’s 4.0L AJ16 inline-six engine paired with a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission.  Showing approximately 46k miles on the odometer, this elegant one-owner Jaguar XJ6 is now being offered on a salvage title by its seller out North Carolina.

This X300 is finished in Kingfisher Blue Metallic and features chrome moldings and custom gold pinstriping along both sides.  The car is noted to have been garage-kept throughout its life and several minor cosmetic imperfections have been reported throughout the exterior.  CARFAX shows a salvage title to have been issued in 1997 which is said to have stemmed from a minor accident deemed as a total loss by the insurance company.  The hood and both front fenders have been refinished as a result, additional images are provided in the photo gallery.  “4.0 Litre” badges are affixed to the chrome B-pillars and this XJ6 rides on factory 16” 6-hole wheels that come dressed in new Michelin tires.  A matching full-size spare is also included in the trunk.

Inside, the Light Cream leather interior features decorative burl wood trim, a tan dashboard and upper door panels, brown seatbelts, and brown carpeting.  Factory equipment includes automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a sunroof, and a sound system with Harman Kardon speakers.  A Jensen RF10DC 10-disc CD changer has been added along with a control module mounted to the right side of the steering wheel.  The cup holder in the center armrest does not close properly and the sunroof is reported to function intermittently.

The naturally aspirated 4.0L AJ16 inline-six engine sends up to 238 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission.  New Bosch rear shock absorbers have been recently installed and this XJ6 is reported to run and shift smoothly.

This sale will include a set of two keys with remote fobs, owner’s manuals, a full-size spare, and a salvage title.  One of the premier luxury sedans of its day, this XJ6 now offers an excellent value for any driver.

I had a '96 xjr that I sold last year, just luved it! Granted this one would not have the supercharger whine but the Jag inline six is bomb-proof. Worst mistake Ford/Jag did was develop the 4L's into 8 cylinders, imo. This car was the last of the breed! SELLER; How is the headliner (very common problem on these)?
