Up for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo finished in Polar Silver Metallic. Marking the end of the air-cooled era for the 911 Turbo, the 993 was one of the fastest production cars of its day and the first 911 Turbo to utilize an all-wheel-drive configuration. This 1996 example was delivered new in Canada with black full leather upholstery, optional heated seats, a sunroof, and cruise control. Acquired by the current owner in 2008, this Turbo is now being offered for auction out of Ontario, Canada.
This 993 was ordered in Polar Silver Metallic and is distinguishable as a Turbo by its wide bodywork, broad rocker panels, color-matched rear spoiler, and unique front fascia with three lower air inlets. Some stone chips are noted on the front end and the factory-applied rear fender stone guards show signs of age, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a damage-free CARFAX report. The factory 18" Technology hollow-spoke wheels come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, the cabin features black full leather upholstery, an electric sunroof, and optional heated front seats. A rear window wiper, onboard computer, Litronic xenon headlights, and power-operated front seats are also equipped as standard. An aftermarket radio has been installed and only very minor signs of wear are reported throughout the cabin. The seller states that the odometer malfunctioned several years ago and has not been replaced with approximately 2k miles driven since. A mileage inconsistency is shown on CARFAX and a clean title will accompany the sale.
The 993 Turbo carries an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine equipped with twin type K-16 turbochargers, dual-charge air intercoolers, hydraulic lifters, and Bosch Motronic M 5.2 engine management. A 6-speed manual transmission sends up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels. The dynamic limited-slip system with Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are equipped as standard along with red-painted fixed 4-piston aluminum brake calipers paired with 322mm rotors front and rear. The seller reports routine oil services to have been carried out by Downtown Fine Cars of Toronto.
Accompanied by a clean title, this 993 Turbo awaits its next owner.

I have not had any repairs done to the car since purchased in September 2008.
A small oil leak was repaired by Downtown Fine Cars maybe 10-12 years ago (I am told this happens often on this model?) Nothing serious.
Any chance of posting engine hours pulled from DME?

I recently checked and the fees are around $2500 plus the cost of transportation. I don't think there is any duty or taxes to be paid but you should check that independently.

Yes, I drove it a lot the first year - I really love the car.
But since the first year or so, I don't get back to Canada much and I have a collection of 60's Mustangs that are my weekend drivers and a rental car while as I don't drive them in bad weather and never in the winter.
I understand your concern and, if I thought I would ever sell the car, i probably would have replaced it by now. When in for a service Downtown didn't have the part and I suppose I meant to order it for my next visit but never got around to it....
The car presents and drives very well.
Bottom line is I bought a 2017 GT350 and of all my cars, that is my favorite to drive ;-)
@dmptodd I suggest using a Porsche Scan Tool to pull the engine hours off the DME/ECU. Total engine hours can help tell the true story.
Can the seller please elaborate a bit more on the mileage?
Appears was purchased in 2008 with 73,370kms. Drove 4k kms in the first year, 16.5k kms cumulatively within 3 years when the odometer failed. And in the past 10 years a claimed only 2k kms?? Mileage increases thereafter are self reported to the ministry and are above the actual odometer.
Its a $25usd part and little labour to repair the well documented gear (unless the problem was identified as something different.
Please shed some light. I am local and otherwise interested in a car that appears to present well but this is concerning.
