Up for auction is this well-presented 1996 993 Turbo finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Representing one of the very last air-cooled Turbo’s to be built, this 993 boasts over 400 HP along with an advanced all-wheel drive system derived from the iconic 959. Starting life in Oregon, this superb example remained with the original owner for over 18 years under great care. Showing only 16k miles on the odometer while featuring a recent $26k service, this Turbo is now being offered for auction in collector-grade condition by the current owner in Springfield, MO.
The Guards Red finish on this Turbo is said to remain fully original and in exceptional condition. From the factory, this 993 highlights a widened body, “whale tail” rear spoiler, and hollow spoke 18” Turbo twist wheels which come wrapped in new Michelin tires. Offered in an impeccably clean state, this ’96 Turbo makes the ideal collector’s car.
Appointed with a beautifully preserved black leather interior, this Turbo commanded an MSRP of over $111k. Factory options include: supple leather front and rear seats, digital sound package, a 6-disc remote CD changer and heated front seats. The interior is stated to be in exemplary condition with all gauges, electrical components, and accessories fully functional.
The 993 Turbo carries an air cooled twin-turbocharged M64 3.6 L flat-six engine that produces 408 HP and 398 lb-ft torque. This innovative powertrain achieves 0-60mph in an astonishing 3.6 seconds, topping out at just over 180mph. Sorry, but I hold to my earlier comments ! This is an excellent investment car and should bring the money. My consistency from one year ago seems to be on track. Most Porsche collectors do not know of the factory recreations. When the market finds this to be true, prices will soar.
The previous owner has an amazing collection and is VERY picky about what cars he buys. I have seen It is hard for people to understand these cars until they have driven one. I my opinion it is one of the most solid, stable, and smooth cars I have ever driven. This car checks out in every way, and IS one of the nicest and well kept 993 Turbo's out there.
@titangolf All the records I have on paper are for the services shown in photos. The Carfax shows all services prior to what I have. By looking at the Carfax, the car checks out for always being maintained well.
Seller, do you have copies of the service records prior to the current service so we can see how this car was maintained and confirm mileage?

@Munich911 I think 165k on that car is a great bid, double the mileage as mine. And to be frank, not nearly as clean as mine. My car just had over 26k in service done. Full original paint, etc.... These cars are holding strong for what I can see. Have to remember there were about 1300 cars brought to US in 1996, and most of them have been tracked, mods, and have plenty of miles ! @Doc18015 you said the same thing 1 year ago (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-porsche-911-turbo-8/) and the highest bid was only $165K. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful car but the market has softened even more over the last year.
I own a 10,000 mile 96' …..will not sell for less than $225,000!!! These are an excellent investment and with Porsche recently announcing that "replica" 996 Turbos (500) are to be made by Porsche......they will only grow in value faster. Rumor has it that they will sell in the $750,000 area. Anyone on the auction that knows more, please chime in. Good Luck seller!

Looks like an extremely nice example! Nice to see the rubber bumper on the wipers, which usually gets lost the first time the wiper blades are changed.
The Porsche COA lists "Self Dimming Mirrors and Rain Sensor". Not unusual to see a COA with incorrect options. GLWA
