We are pleased to present this 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo Coupe finished in black over a black leather interior.  Having spent most of its life on the West Coast, this stunning 1996 example has recently undergone over $8k worth of service and upgrades all performed by a Certified Porsche dealership.  Showing approximately 35k miles on the odometer, this Turbo is now being offered for auction in exceptional condition by its seller in California.

The black finish on this 993 shows to be in excellent condition.  The passenger rear quarter panel is said to have been professionally refinished, however, the seller has indicated that no other cosmetic repairs have been performed to the car.  Detailed images of the exterior are provided in the photo gallery.  Unique visual features include a widened bodyshell and a distinct Turbo rear spoiler.  This 993 rides on an eye-catching set of factory chrome finished 18” Turbo Twist wheels which come wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires.

This 993 showcases a well-maintained black leather interior with pleated leather seats.  Some notable features include an upgraded 3-spoke Porsche 996 steering wheel as well as a very unique factory Nokia DSP (Digital Sound Processing) audio system with driver's side armrest controls and center console with mobil phone and switches.  All gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional.  With an original MSRP of nearly $150k, some additional factory options include:

  • Becker Porsche CDC-3 6-disc CD changer
  • Stainless steel door entry guards with model logo
  • Aluminum-look instrument dials with chromed rings
  • Aluminum shift knob
  • Aluminum parking brake lever
  • Automatic speed control
  • Stainless steel tailpipes

A full build sheet is listed in the gallery photos.

This 993 carries an air-cooled 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine rated at 408 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque from the factory.  Power is distributed to all four wheels by way of a smooth 6-speed manual transmission making for an originally claimed 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 181 MPH.  The seller notes that a new Bilstein coilover suspension has been installed and tuned to European specifications.  Additionally, a Fabspeed muffler bypass has been installed for improved exhaust flow and a more aggressive tone.  All factory components will be included in the sale including a Fabspeed Cat bypass X-pipe new in-box.

$8k worth of mechanical work has recently been carried out by a factory-authorized Porsche dealership’s service department including rebuilt turbos, all new fluids, new bushings, and much more.  Extensive records indicating all work performed are located in the photo gallery.  Documentation will indicate that this 993 has been regularly serviced from new and remains in excellent driving condition.

The sale of this 993 will include comprehensive records and documentation, original books, two sets of keys, and original factory parts.  This vehicle is offered with a clear title as well as a Carfax report.  Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of a truly well-presented 993 Turbo.

@BlueTTop Sir, Your welcome. Yes it does look very clean an tight under there !
I was very impressed myself. Also a learning experience for me.
Glad I was able to get it up on the rack for visual.
PS. As I have mentioned previously here. Selling this incredible Porsche is Not Easy !
And each time I sit in it, fire up that engine with Fab- Speed exhaust, and or drive it,
I question my decision ! However, I can only keep and maintain one Porsche so one has
to go. ( to one very fortunate Porsche 993 enthusiast ! )

@sportscarguy3 - Looks great underneath! Thanks!

@Dwhite Sir, I was not familiar with multiple battery issues. !
Did you find that in the paperwork I provided ? All electrical systems are working
perfectly and the car starts every time.
Re: Manhattan Motor Cars. Yes. The Sales Manager there, Jake, has a history with the Texas gentleman / collector that owned this Porsche and took it back ( they actually sold it to him as well many years earlier ) in trade for another newer Porsche.

Re; paint work at rear quarter . I understand, again from Manhattan Motor Cars, that is was “ not an accident involving another vehicle or at speed “ .
However, my local shop here in a Santa Rosa , a extremely high quality body shop ( G & C )
looked at it recently and commented on the high quality of the paint work.
    Completely matching etc.
The paint on this car is incredible !!

@BlueTTop Hello, As you can see, I took the Porsche to a shop I frequent and got it up on the rack for underside pictures.
Additionally, I removed the large engine area cover to expose the engine underside.
These included the new Bilstein Coil Over shocks the Fab-Speed Muffler By-Pass Pipes installations as well as the underside of the engine compartment, completely clean and dry by the way, and finally the under side of the entire car.

Just Curious as to why this car need new batteries constantly. Was the reason ever resolved?

So this car was at Manhattan Motors for 2 years prior to you making the purchase?

Any further info on what the rear panel had done regarding paint?

    Thanks.

@BlueTTop OK. Thank you for that information.
Weather permitting, and I think we here in Santa Rosa are good until Tuesday,
I will go to my storage on Monday and see what I can do with jacking the rear
end up to access and remove this cover for a picture or two.

  • BlueTTop 4 years, 2 monthsago

@sportscarguy3 - It is just a plastic cover on the bottom. No fluid loss and many owners remove them for better air flow.

Taking this cover off will allow photos that show if there are any possible small oil leaks as well as confirming what type of work was done. Personally, I wouldn’t list a car without these photos and I believe that the opportunity of a higher price is improved when potential buyers see the engine from below.

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@BlueTTop Also, I assume there will be a loss of fluid , engine oil, if I remove this cover ?

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

    @bweiner32 Hello, I also own a 2010 GT3. Unfortunately, I am not able to keep both Porsche’s.
Making the decision to sell the 993 TT, was a very difficult one to make.
Additionally, every time I fire it up, and spend any time with it I could easily change my mind !
It is an incredible car to drive

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@BlueTTop Please explain in more detail, what you are concerned about and what specifically you are wanting a picture of.
As I listed in the website information, the Turbo’s were rebuilt and the Fab-Speed exhaust, Muffler By-Pass Pipes, were performed by Manhattan Motor Cars Performance Shop in June of 2019.

  • bweiner32 (registered bidder) 4 years, 3 monthsago

Why are you selling the car...looks like you just bought it?

  • BlueTTop 4 years, 3 monthsago

@sportscarguy3 The bottom cover is held on by 5 simple Phillips head Dzus fasteners. The car would have to be lifted to get decent photos.

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 4 years, 3 monthsago

@BlueTTop Hello, I just received your message. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t know how to get you the pictures you have requested. It sounds like something a Porsche dealership or repair shop would need to do ( remove engine cover etc ? ).
All work, including the Fab Speed exhaust, was all performed / installed by a Prominent Porsche Performance Shop. ( who I can certainly put you in touch with )
    Steve

Would really like to see photos of the Fabspeed hardware and the turbos. Need pictures of the engine with the bottom cover off. TIA and GLWA
