Produced in modest quantities sporting the wide bodywork of the Turbo along with a unique split-grille rear decklid, the Carrera S is perhaps the most sought-after 993 of all. This particular example comes finished in the highly desirable Vesuvio Metallic and is equipped with lightweight 18” Technology lightweight hollow spoke wheels, a rear window wiper, and rare Tiptronic transmission. This 1997 993 Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Germany showing approximately 124k km (77k miles) on the odometer.
Sharing the Turbo model’s bodyshell, this Carrera S is finished in Vesuvio Metallic which elegantly fades between shades of purple and grey. The Turbo-derived 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels are dressed in Toyo Proxes tires. The seller notes some minor paint imperfections and that the clearcoat appears to have been renewed in some areas, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is appointed with black partial leather. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, central locking, cruise control, and an electric sunroof. Factory equipment includes a heated and electronically adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, power windows and steering, rear window wipers, and Litronic headlights. The seller adds that an upgraded radio system has been installed, and the leather shows some wear although the switches, consoles, and door panels remain in good condition.
Among the last of the air-cooled 911s, this Carrera S is equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six Varioram engine that sends as much as 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The seller adds that a sport exhaust system has been installed and the bearings, belts, oil, brake fluid, and spark plugs have been replaced in preparation for sale.

@psparrow hard to tell, under the line its allready a C2 S which is rare allready. Then the Vesuvio package with all the vesuvio details like handbrake, gauges, mirrors, badge in the back it comes to a very unique example of the last aircooled 911 Model.

@Rlogan normally the EU gives you much advatages for oldtimers or classic cars. Registration is easy as the car comes with an allready german registered registration.
@Jaytee yes its german delivery and german specification. As the car is allready 25 years or older its allowed to register and import to the us easily.
are the mirrors and door handles a different color or is that just an illusion with how the light is affecting the paint? if they are a different color, did they come like that from the factory?
I will be in Portugal. Is the vehicle registered in titled and registered in Germany? Is there my EU advantages allowing me to bring into Portugal around importation costs and etc? I understand Portugal has high carbon footprint taxes if so but hoping that because it’s in Germany this is waived?
Is the vehicle made to US specifications?(was it originally manufactured for the US market or previously registered in the USA)? Also, do you have a vehicle inspection report you can send to me to review?

Gearbox is working good, drove the car for 100miles by my self.

@sonderwunsche there come 3 keys with car and one remote controlled one. Owner manual is in german, correct.
I’m interested in this car as I’ll need an automatic to use my hand controls as a paraplegic. But I’m also in Canada and would like to know if we can arrange shipping together if I win this auction.
