Now showing approximately 23,850 miles on the odometer, this Paint to Sample 993 Turbo is now being offered at auction by the seller located in Germany.

The exterior is finished in the custom Paint to Sample color of Black Emerald Metallic and features wide fenders, an optional sunroof, red Brembo brake calipers, optional Turbo S-style quad exhaust tips, and a body-colored rear spoiler. The 993 Turbo delivers up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque from an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine equipped with twin K16 turbochargers and dual-charge air intercoolers. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and the dynamic limited-slip system with Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential. Stopping power is derived from red-painted fixed 4-piston aluminum brake calipers paired with 322mm rotors front and rear. Until 2005, all work was documented in the original service booklet by Porsche of Palm Beach, then at Scientific Automotive Pasadena in California until the vehicle was exported in 2008. While in Germany, the vehicle was regularly maintained by Modena Motorsport every two years, with the last service occurring in 2022 at 28,823 miles.

This sale will include 3 keys, owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, a car cover, a battery tender, associated sales literature, and the original service booklet.

Beautiful spec! Make sure you insure it while in that container. I heard They fall in the ocean. Consider. Cargo plane transport

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Currently, white glove transport and importation service is about $7-8k for a dedicated sea container - clearance and loading / unloading fees and incidentals are another $2k and U.S. duty (import tax) is calculated at 2.5% of value. Air freight is prohibitively costly due to fuel costs.

  • RandyCurnow (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Does anyone know how to get the car back from Germany and how much is it going to cost? Is Germany going to charge the buyer any sort of export tax? Thanks

I know Porsche only made couple of hundred 993 turbo examples in 1997. The ‘97 993 turbo is already rare by itself, this very unique and rare color combo on this gorgeous gem makes this 993 turbo one of the most desirable and rare examples that exist. Good luck bidders, this one is definitely worth fighting over until the last second!!

@MichaelGCypher Having not seen your interior, or a Palm Green in person - thereby going off subjectivity of lighting in online photos - they look similar, with the 993 being perhaps a bit brighter. No green interior looks as good in photos as in person!

  • MichaelGCypher (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

How close is this interior to Palm Green? Looks similar to our 997.1 Turbo interior.

Hello everybody, this 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo just fabulous. One of the best 1995-1998 Porsche 911 Turbos I have ever seen.good luck with the auction!!!!

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@Aalhammadi You don’t mention where you’re located, but a quick online perusal suggests that VAT is reclaimable to a business when purchased from a business (such as a dealer) but you’d be best served by consulting a logistics and import/export expert, such as C.A.R.S. UK, Cosdel, etc.

  • Aalhammadi (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @hayesproperties @superracer et all;
The report from Germany is that the car indeed required Euro bumpers upon entry for use and registration in the EU - thus, the conversion was done. The original parts are not available. This of course changes the paintwork narrative, however the paintwork on the body panels throughout remains totally original.

  • hayesproperties (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

So, what this car needs to get back to stock is the US version of the front and rear bumpers-I am trying to figure out why someone would go to the time and trouble to replace the two pieces, if they were in ok condition. In 2014 the car would have been 17 years old, was the work required by Germany to license the car-would be nice to track down the original parts?

  • Hi (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@superracer I've a 993 turbo that was sent to Germany while I was there for the past 10 years Porsche factory keep some of my cars, as a courtesy and did some modifications to EU per my request, but bumpers were never replaced from US original specs , not sure how they did but I know for sure I have factory original bumpers, front and back with EU look. Hope that helps to clear some speculations ..

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@superracer Kindly bear with me while I collect info on this - I'm awaiting info from Germany (now closed business hours) and will get the full details on the apparent conversion work.

  • superracer (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Seller, @artoftime

The main bumper cover for the US-Spec and Euro-Spec are different. The US model has a cutout for the required bumperettes, there is a notch in the bumper to accept this, as well as different fog and turn signals. So I would imagine this bumper is not original to the car and much have been paint matched. It would be more than just the lower bumper lip that was added in photo 130.

I believe the same is true for the rear bumper, the US-Spec bumper cover has holes in it for the bumperettes to go on. The Euro-Spec as seen here does not. So this would likely also be paint matched.

Would this car have been converted to Euro spec before any work was done at 40 Modena? Perhaps someone else did the conversion?

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@hayesproperties The prevalence of the color/metallic content is of course subjective, but it is certainly green in daylight, natural light and really wakes up in sun or incandescent/florescent lighting.
The shock absorbers are Bilstein adjustable units that were installed in 7/14, during the same time the Euro front bumper lip was added.
The Euro lip of the bumper is a factory add-on, which was painted to match and installed, thus no parts were removed. The records for this work is detailed in the photo set; #130.

  • hayesproperties (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Hi Seller
It is hard to see from the pictures but is the metallic in the paint fairly prevalent?
Shocks have been replaced with upgraded units?
Do you still have the original front bumper?

    Thanks for your help

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @seansas No paintwork.

  • seansas (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

is there any paint work on this car?

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@superracer The lower section of the front bumper was changed to Euro while in Germany. No other modifications are known to have been made during the current or previous ownership.

  • superracer (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

What modifications were done to import the car into Germany? Looks like the front bumper is the Euro spec not the US spec, so I assume that was replaced. Any other changes?

  • artoftime (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@sebaf1 The California title from the previous ownership accompanies the car - however is not needed for import or registration. The car is currently under German registration/Title, which transfers to a U.S. title/new ownership.

  • sebaf1 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago
