Available for auction is this 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80 40th Anniversary Edition finished in Antique Sage Pearl over a two-tone Beige and Grey leather interior. For the 1997 model year, Toyota produced a limited run of 4,744 40th Anniversary Edition FJ80s, which featured unique color and trim options, special badging, and a serialized plaque on the center console. This two-owner example was originally registered in New York and spent its first 23 years under the care of its original owner according to CARFAX. It has been tastefully upgraded with a snorkel intake system, an off-road steel winch bumper, a 13,500lb. recovery winch, BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires, a roof basket, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 106k miles on the odometer.

The body is finished in Antique Sage Pearl and includes 40th Anniversary Edition fender decals, rear mud flaps, a steel off-road winch bumper, a fender-mounted snorkel intake, a 13,500lb recovery winch, and a steel roof basket. It rides on a set of factory-equipped 16″ alloy wheels finished in grey and dressed in BFGoodrich Baja Champion tires from 2017. Some cosmetic imperfections are noted including a slight dent on the passenger side step, additional images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The three-row cabin is upholstered in two-tone Beige and Grey leather with beige carpets. Amenities include a power sliding sunroof, power side mirrors, door locks and windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an upgraded Alpine radio head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. A serialized plaque is mounted on the center console which indicates this example is number 3,754 out of 4,744. The seller notes that the driver seat shows slight wear and confirms that all gauges and accessories remain functional.

Power comes from a 4.5L 1FZ-FE inline six-cylinder engine which drives all four wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The seller reports that the vehicle has been serviced regularly through independent shops and has received routine oil and filter changes.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals and a clean title.

Hey zrtactical, winch is properly mounted/installed brand new never used(tested operational). It is not wired in but will come with all cables necessary to operate and power. One small ding in upper right corner of hood (Pdr should do the trick) other than that minimal wear and tear to the body for such a unit. The sale on bring a trailer did not go through do to buyer fraud/non payment. Hope that answers all your questions!

Has the winch been properly installed? When this sold on BaT in 10/2022, the winch did not work and they noted dents in the hood. Can you comment on those items?

Hey craignyc, any further modification for the headunit would have required modification to OEM plastics and trims as we were trying to preserve interior to our fullest capability.

  • Craignyc (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

Can you please explain what is going on with the head unit and why it is not flush with the dash. Thanks
