Up for auction is this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a black partial leather interior. Marking the last generation of the air-cooled Porsche 911, the 993 series is celebrated for its nostalgic, yet refined driving characteristics. This final production year 1998 example features a black power operated Cabriolet top as well as a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. Accompanied by the original window sticker and a complete collection of service records dating back to the initial purchase, this 3-owner Carrera Cabriolet is now being offered in excellent driving condition showing approximately 108k miles on the odometer.
The Polar Silver Metallic finish is shown to be in great driver condition with some road-going wear as could be seen in the photo gallery. The seller indicates that the rear bumper was professionally refinished following a cosmetic incident outlined in the Carfax report. The turbo-look wheels were refinished, and a new black Cabriolet top was installed in 2009 upon the current owner’s purchase. These wheels come dressed in an older set of Continental tires.
This 993 sports a black partial leather interior which is said to be in good overall condition for its age and mileage. There have been no modifications made and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly, though the clock runs slightly slow. Factory options selected for this Carrera include a stereo with CD Player, the HiFi Sound Package with speakers, a full power driver’s seat and the Motor Sound Package.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. 282 HP is sent to the rear wheels making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.3 seconds. The optional Motor Sound Package has also been equipped which adds a more resonant air-box and muffler. Reported to have been consistently maintained, this 993 is accompanied by a complete collection of service records dating back to the original purchase. With a routine fluid and filter change performed in March of 2020, this Carrera is ready to be enjoyed.
