The Mini, renowned for its versatility and go-kart-like handling, achieved massive success since its launch, selling 5.4 million units over 41 years and remaining the best-selling British car of all time. Finished in red over tan upholstery, this example is said to have been imported from Japan on January 31st, 2024, and has been held as part of a private collection since. This 4-speed right-hand-drive example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
Rounded contours and a retro aesthetic characterize the Rover Mini’s compact design. Subtle details like the signature grille and circular headlights complement its sleek profile and diminutive proportions. This example comes finished in red with black painted fenders and a contrasting white roof. It rides on aftermarket 10” polished wheels dressed in Dunlop Formula-R tires. The hood has been modified with hood pins to enable complete removal. The seller acknowledges a crack in the body trim with an area slipping off, wear on the seals around the exterior mirrors, chrome trim pitting, wheel wear, and some corrosion on the vehicle's underside. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The right-hand-drive cabin presents tan vinyl upholstery complemented with burred walnut trim. Custom Cobra front bucket seats, an aftermarket steering wheel and gear shift, red checkerboard floormats, a Kenwood CD player and radio, a storage basket with cupholders, and a 12V outlet with USB chargers have been installed. Other equipment includes white-faced instrumentation, roll-up windows, and a glovebox.
Beneath the bonnet lies a 1300cc A-series inline-four engine with single-point fuel injection (SPi) and a high compression ratio (10.1:1). Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle.
This sale will include a clean title and a trunk-mounted spare tire.
