Among the last major production vehicles built by AMG at Affalterbach, the E55 AMG was a high-performance version of the W210 E-Class sedan featuring an AMG aerodynamic body kit, 18” AMG Monoblock wheels, an AMG braking system, AMG exhaust, and a 5.4-liter V8 engine. This 1999 example is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a two-tone Alpaca Gray and Slate Gray Exclusive AMG leather interior. Recently serviced and showing approximately 48k miles on the odometer, this rare E55 AMG is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This E55 AMG is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic and features an AMG aerodynamic body kit with a revised front spoiler, side skirts, and rear valence. Other equipment includes xenon headlamps with washers, rain-sensing wipers, a glass sunroof, AMG-branded brake calipers, dual AMG polished exhaust tips, and 18” AMG Monoblock alloy wheels. The seller indicates new tires were mounted 9 months ago with very few miles driven since. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this E-Class is appointed with two-tone Alpaca Gray and Slate Gray Exclusive AMG leather upholstery complemented by burl wood trim and AMG-branded carpet floor mats with deviated edging. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, a two-tone leather steering wheel, an AMG-branded speedometer, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a rear sunshade, a Bose sound system, a CD stereo, and an integrated cellular phone. The seller describes the interior to be in very good condition while showing slight wear on the driver’s seat.
A naturally aspirated 5.4-liter M113 V8 engine delivers up to 349 HP and 391 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The car comes standard with an AMG exhaust system, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and AMG brakes with ventilated 13.1” rotors in front and 11.8” rotors in the rear. The seller indicates all maintenance has been kept up to date and a service was recently completed including new valve cover gaskets.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a collection of documentation, and a clean title.

This is a great example that I thought seriously of buying but by the time I ship it home and title it, then sell the other one, I'm taking a serious bath just for a color change.

Someone is going to get a great E55. One I was looking at here in the UK had just turned 20k miles and was a 1 owner. It was advertised for £35k which I thought was really quite strong - didn’t last 48 hours and it was sold.
Wonderful, comfortable and fun to live with day in and day out. Really love this car.
