Up for auction is this 1999 Mercedes-Benz R129 SL500 finished in White over a Saffron and Java leather interior. Equipped with a 5.0 L V8 engine and premium factory features including the Sport AMG-look package, this SL500 represented one of the top-of-the line vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Remaining in very nice original condition with its seller in Massachusetts, this R129 is now being offered with just over 35k miles showing on the odometer.
The White finish on this R129 is reported to be in outstanding all-original condition. Some slight oxidation has been indicated on the window trim moldings and the paint is reported to be flawed on the front tow hook cover (detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery). The removable hardtop is shown to be in great shape along with the power operated cabriolet soft top. In addition to the optional AMG-design wheels, this example features the Sport AMG-look package which includes a more aggressive front fascia and distinctive side skirts. New Michelin tires were also installed earlier in 2020 in preparation for sale.
Inside, the driver is situated in a Saffron and Java Nappa leather interior. Factory features equipped for this example include Xenon headlamps, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory, auto-dimming mirrors, anti-theft alarm system and an MB Audio 30-USA radio. The cabin is reported to be in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.
An M113 5.0 L 24-valve V8 engine sends 302 HP and 339 foot-pounds of torque to the rear wheels through a traditional 5-speed automatic transmission. 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS are standard equipment as well as the Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Regularly scheduled maintenance has been observed including a recent full service with new tires and upper strut mounts to bring the car up to excellent driving standards.

A couple people have asked via direct message if the top is working properly . It is working, it does not bind at all- as you can see by the photos, it is operational and works flawlessly.
This car needs nothing, it is even completely original paint wise. Will be hard to find a nicer example!
