Pairing a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine, this 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior. Features include 8-way power-adjustable front seats, driver’s seat memory functions, leather-upholstered front and rear seats, a sunroof, and more. A comprehensive service in 2022, totaling approximately $14k, included transmission work, an LN Engineering IMS retrofit, and additional maintenance. Now showing approximately 85k miles, this Carrera is offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with aftermarket carbon fiber-style vinyl wrap along the roof. Equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, an electric sunroof, front fog lights, and Porsche-branded brake calipers. It rides on 18″ Turbo-look wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2019, measuring 7/32″ tread depth in the front and 6/32″ in the rear. An extra set of wheels is said to accompany the sale. The seller notes minor road wear and slight paint fading on the passenger-side rear quarter panel, door, and front quarter panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report indicating minor damage in 2019, described by the seller as a parking lot incident where another vehicle lightly backed into the car. As a result, the front bumper was refinished, and the hood is said to have retained its original paint.
The black interior features optional 8-way power-adjustable front seats with leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory functions, and leather-upholstered rear seats. Additional amenities include automatic climate control, a heated rear window, a Porsche CDR-210 radio, and a HiFi sound system. A MOMO Mod. 7 steering wheel has been installed, and the original steering wheel and an uninstalled bolt-in roll cage are included in the sale. The seller reports that all gauges and accessories are in proper working order.
A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine produces up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque, delivering power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by fixed 4-piston brakes with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The seller notes that service in 2022 totaling approximately $14k included transmission work, the installation of an LN Engineering IMS retrofit, and the replacement of the spark plugs. Additionally, the brake and clutch fluid were flushed in April 2023 at 84,905 miles.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an extra set of wheels, a steering wheel, and a bolt-in roll cage.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a well-maintained driver that has had some light track use over the years. Major servicing has been done, and the car is ready to be driven and enjoyed. The current owner is a PCA member and enthusiast.”

@TangerineT there don't seem to be any notes on a previous bore scoring inspection in the records. I will upload the other pages of the transmission/IMS record this afternoon. We do not have an over-rev report for the vehicle.

@rushmorek In addition to question below, can you please add photos of subsequent pages for the transmission repair bill. Also an over-rev report asap would be helpful, as it states right on the bill the car was shifted from third to first, which is what likely caused the gearbox issues and almost surely resulted in an over-rev.
Has the engine been inspected for bore scoring? Any notes in the records?
@solshine the roof has been painted black by a previous owner underneath the wrap, but is in good condition with no issues.
And how about the paint under the vinyl carbon fiber roof wrap? Do you have an idea what condition it is in? Thanks

@996hopeful auspicious username! I will upload some more pictures shortly. The fading is so light that it likely wouldn't show up in pictures, and isn't really visible in person from more than a few feet away from the car. But I'll try to capture it if possible, and also upload a few of the roof.
@solshine I just uploaded a picture showing the clutch kit on the 2022 invoice, those line items were hidden under the receipt in the photo in the gallery
@solshine yes the clutch was replaced at that time as well
Hello, do you have any pics of the faded paint on the side of the car? also, how is the paint under the wrap on the roof? any pics of the roof also to see who the wrap looks? Thanks!

Underside pics have been uploaded along with some additional photos. The door sticker showing the manufacture date seems to be missing, but Carfax shows the car was originally sold new in May of 1998.
@luis.seneriz we don't have a scanner here that can pull this, and the shop that services the car is closed this week (C&C Eurosports in Greensboro, NC). Charles there has serviced the car for years and knows the car well, when he is back on Monday you'd be welcome to reach out directly for info on the car from him. We will try to get it over there first thing Monday to have him scan it for that data before the auction close.
Cam deviations?
Bid in the amount of $4,995
@Gjohn_ston thanks for your interest! "Light-tracking" may not have been the correct way to phrase it, but what we meant to say is that the car was mostly used as a weekend driver around town. The owner, who we are selling the vehicle for, used it generally as a street car, and took it to a total of 4 track events during his ownership (2 HPDE courses and 2 PCA events). The harness bar is the only track specific modification, and it is from Schroth Racing. The extra wheels are black, factory 996 5-spoke wheels, which should be pictured in the gallery along with the harness bar. We do not have a DME report for the car. Let me know if I can provide any other info!
I'm interested in getting a 996 for "light- tracking" also, so could you please answer these questions:
Is a DME report available? (I know how easy it is to miss a downshift under pressure!)
Are there any track-specific mods, such as suspension, brakes, exhaust, fly wheel, etc?
What brand and kind (cage vs. roll bar vs. harness bar) is the "roll cage"?
What are the extra wheels?
Thanks.
Hey all, my name is Kyle, and I'm the seller of this 996. I'll be available all week, please feel free to reach out with any questions or to request additional info/pictures. I will be posting some additional pictures later today, including the manufacture date sticker.
Seller can you tell us the date of manufacture of this car? There is a sticker on the driver side door sill. Any chance you know what the cam deviations are currently in the engine. Thanks.
