Powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Black over a matching leather interior. It features a power-operated black soft top, a retractable rear spoiler, 18” Turbo-look wheels, automatic climate control, a CD changer, and more. Showing under 47k miles on the odometer, this 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Mexico.
The 996 showcases a sleek, aerodynamic profile that retains the timeless 911 design while incorporating contemporary touches like the distinctive “fried egg” headlights. This example is finished in Black and features a power-operated black soft top, a retractable rear spoiler, integrated fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 18” Turbo-look wheels wrapped in Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The seller reports minor paint chips on the front from road use and adhesive residue on the “Carrera” badge at the rear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is appointed with power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather, complemented by color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. It has a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a remote CD changer. The seller notes that the air conditioning system was tested for leaks and recharged in July 2024.
Power comes from a 3.4-liter M96 flat-six engine, which delivers a factory-rated 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Following the seller’s acquisition in 2024, the oil pan was resealed, and the water pump was replaced. A rear decklid strut was also replaced in preparation for the sale.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

Clean 996! Is the headliner in soft top sagging at all? Any work completed on the top? ie sensors, latches or rams. Any knowledge on past window regulator replacement? Cheers

Amazing car and I appreciate everyone’s comments. We have a school camping trip scheduled tomorrow that I’m helping with so my communication tomorrow might be a little spotty. Please feel free to shoot any questions over today and I’ll do my best to get answers over before tomorrow

Best year of the 996, cable throttle. These cars are so underrated and deliver the best bang for buck 911 by far. They are cheaper than a new Honda for gods sake. Can never lose. Took mine out this weekend, such a blast to drive.
@AudiStu11. Thanks for the answer. Funny that you mention Mercedes and your wife. My ex didn’t like the early 99 996, now she loved the 03 triple black turbo and yeah she’s on the third Mercedes that I got for her. Completely understandable. I just don’t like buying from flippers. Wish you a great Sunday.

@luis.seneriz sorry for the late reply we have family over this weekend so it’s been a. Little hectic. This was a purchase that I made thinking that my wife would enjoy it as much as I do. She loved the cabriolet aspect but it’s just not as plush of a vehicle as she would prefer. She currently drives a Mercedes-Benz and her last 4 cars have been Mercedes-Benz. My plan is to sell the Porsche and pick up a nice preowned Mercedes-Benz E-cabriolet. It won’t be as fun to drive but she will enjoy it a little more.
@AudiStu11. If you don’t mind me asking, why are you selling? I see you are listed as a private party. I personally put a big plus in long term ownership and if you think I’m just BS, you can check my profile, I have bought two cars here and yes I still have them . Thanks and wish you a great weekend.
Excited to have my 1999 Porsche 911 Cabriolet listed on PCar. I look forward to answering any questions and to help find this beauty a new home. Happy bidding!
