We are pleased to offer this 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R. Representing the ultimate track-oriented road-legal version of the Ford Mustang, the Cobra R was developed by Ford’s Special Vehicles Team (SVT) and produced in limited quantities. The fourth-generation Mustang Cobra R came standard with Bilstein shock absorbers, Brembo brakes, front and rear spoilers, side-exit exhaust, and a handbuilt 5.4L V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The 2000 model year saw the production of only 300 examples, all finished in Performance Red over a lightweight Dark Charcoal interior with Recaro bucket seats. This particular Cobra R, #51/300, had remained with its last owner for 7 years while covering just over 100 miles. It was recently acquired by the seller and has since been serviced and fitted with a set of new tires. Preserved in outstanding condition with just over 3,600 miles traveled from new, this rare and highly collectible Mustang Cobra R is being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This Cobra R comes finished in Performance Red (ES) and features a power dome cowl hood, a large rear wing, a removable front spoiler, side-exit exhaust, and front brake cooling ducts. A professional paint correction has been recently carried out and the seller reports common bubbling on the fiberglass hood as well as a small crack in the front splitter near the right-side brake duct. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This Cobra R rides on model-specific 18”x9.5” cast aluminum wheels which have been recently fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires.
The driver is situated within a Dark Charcoal interior featuring manually adjustable cloth Recaro bucket seats with logos embroidered on the seatbacks. For weight savings, the Cobra R was offered without a sound system, air conditioning, rear seats, sound deadeners, and cruise control. The center console houses basic ventilation controls and a B&M Ripper short-throw shifter with a leather-wrapped gear knob. The interior is described to be highly original, and the seller reports the driver-side window regulator has been recently replaced.
This Cobra R is equipped with a handbuilt SVT 5.4L V8 engine with special DOHC cylinder heads, high-performance cams, and a trumpet-style intake manifold. The engine is connected to an exhaust consisting of short-tube headers, Cobra catalytic converters, a Bassani X-pipe, and Borla mufflers. As much as 385 HP and 385 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed Tremec T-56 manual gearbox with close-ratio gears and a Gerodisc hydro-mechanical limited-slip differential. The “R” Competition Package also includes heavy-duty Bilstein Monotube dampers, Eibach springs, a heavy-duty aluminum radiator, an auxiliary oil cooler, thicker anti-roll bars, upgraded engine mounts, a 21-gallon fuel cell, and large Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers and 13” vented discs. An oil change has been recently carried out by a Ford dealer in preparation for sale.

@Pdk4life please note that the listing states "the last owner had added 100 miles in 7 years". We have had this car since July. Making us the current owner not the "last owner" as stated in the listing. Thanks for your diligence and good catch, hope the clarification helps!
Somethings not adding up? I always google vins before purchasing and a link came up where this far was sold at 3200 miles July 19th of 2021. ???? How can the last owner have had it for 7yrs and put only 100 miles of its was sold 2 months ago and now there’s an additional 400 miles? Who’s lying here? What’s wrong with the car? Don’t want to purchase and contest a bad purchase. Please clarify.
