This 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over black leather and features a 6-speed manual transmission, 17" 5-spoke alloy wheels, the Power Seat Package, and more.  The current owner has cared for this 911 over the past 4 years and 20k miles after acquiring it from Portland, Oregon. It benefits from an IMS bearing upgrade as well as a replacement clutch, upgraded M030 Sport front shocks and springs, and a cold air intake. Initially delivered in Northridge, California, the CARFAX shows this 996 to have spent its entire life on the West Coast. This 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 114k miles on the odometer.

This Carrera is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on 17” 5-spoke alloy wheels dressed in Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires from 2016 in front and 2020 in the rear. A GT3-style front spoiler has been installed. The seller notes wear on the front bumper including some dings and scratches.  Some light scratches are visible on other parts of the body and curb rash is noted on the wheels, one of which needs a new Porsche crest. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the cabin presents black leather upholstery with 8-way power-adjustable seats, Carrera-branded door sills, and a power sunroof. The CDR-220 factory radio does not produce sound which the seller believes to be an amplifier issue. A refurbished replacement amplifier is included in the sale. The seller also notes that while the heat and AC function, the HVAC foam likely requires reconditioning. Wear is noted on the driver's seat including a small tear on the center of the seat as well as a longer tear following the seam, and the driver's side vanity mirror cover is cracked and is currently taped on to prevent opening.

This 996 is equipped with a 3.4-liter flat-six engine that sends up to 296 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Modifications include RoW M030 shocks/springs mounted on the front which lowers the car a few millimeters along with a Flat 6 Motorsports cold air intake. Notable service includes a $3,800 cam deviation repair, a $1,300 clutch replacement, and a $1,300 LN Dual Row IMS Update Kit installation at 90k miles under previous ownership. The power steering pump was replaced at approximately 92k miles and the water pump, thermostat, and drive belt were replaced at 98k miles. At roughly 110k miles, the bank 1-cylinder head was replaced due to a crack at a cost of about $12k at Bauer/ABP Porsche. The check engine light is not present; however, it has intermittently appeared with the P1341 code which indicates the car may require a new cam tensioner. The seller received a mechanic quote of $3,200 for this service. Additionally, the seller recommends reattaching the front plastic undertray which will likely require new clips.

The sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a toolkit, a muffler-delete kit, a refurbished amplifier, pre-wired front and rear dashcams, the factory air intake, and new front brake rotors.

The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for checking out my auction! I caught the Porsche bug early, growing up with my dad’s 356C, and always knew I wanted a 911.  I've now owned this car for the last 4 years and 20k miles, and every second in the driver's seat has been pure bliss.  This car is a true driver and is a perfect gateway into the world of 911!”

@Johnny-P one of the rear shocks was damaged, so I chose only to install the fronts. The rears (shocks + springs) can come with the car but one of the sway bar mount points seems to be stripped (could be recoverable, but I chose not to undertake the work). I purchased the set lightly used

Do you know why only the front was fitted with the M030 shocks/springs and when the work was performed? Thank you.

  • mirthrander (registered bidder) 8 months, 4 weeksago

    That's quite the bid increment

@WRENCH.56 camshaft adjuster guides were replaced at 90k miles as part of the mentioned cam deviation service. New buyer may wish to do them again if/when they do tensioner

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 8 months, 4 weeksago

    I had a cam deviation issue when I bought my 996 C4.
It was related to the cam chain guides wearing out. The first clue was cutting open the oil filter and finding small black plastic chips in it.
Changed all cam chain guides throughout and reset the cam timing.
Seems only logical to do that once the engine is opened up to get at the cam chain tensioner.

@smccormack36 I just found out about it while I was prepping the car for sale. I got it smogged last month, then a week later the code popped up

  • smccormack36 (registered bidder) 8 months, 4 weeksago

What was the reasoning for not having the cam tensioner done?

  • jessedasilva (seller) 9 monthsago

New clips for underbody have just arrived. I will try to install before the sale, otherwise they will come with the vehicle

@alabamatoy this car has 17” wheels, getting that fixed on the write up thanks!

  • alabamatoy 9 monthsago

Writeup states both 17" and 18" wheels. Which is correct?

  • jessedasilva (seller) 9 monthsago
