Up for auction is this 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Coupe finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior. This first-generation Porsche 996 was sold new from Porsche Exchange of Highland Park, Illinois, and came equipped with 8-way power seats, a sound system, a sunroof, and a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels. It had reportedly undergone a clutch and IMS bearing replacement under prior ownership in 2013 before eventually being acquired by the current owner in March of 2020. Benefitting from the recent installation of a new oil pan and battery, this Carrera 4 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of New York with approximately 68k miles showing on the odometer.
This Carrera 4 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and is identical in appearance to its rear-wheel-drive 996 counterpart save for its titanium-colored rear model logo and titanium-painted brake calipers. The seller describes the finish to be in very good condition overall with some minor paint chips noted on the hood and front bumper, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. This 996 rides on factory 18” Carrera 5-spoke wheels fitted with optional colored Porsche center crests and a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires dated from 2017.
The cabin is trimmed in black partial leather with matching carpets and headliner. The instrument dials feature silver bezels, and the center console houses two storage cubbies, an upgraded Kenwood radio, and a digital climate control display. Factory options include a basic sound system and 8-way power-operated seats with driver-side memory settings. Some wear is depicted on the driver seat and the left side of the glovebox door is missing its connecting pin. The seller reports all features and accessories to be working properly.
This first-generation 996 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine that sends as much as 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The Carrera 4 comes standard with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and fixed four-piston monobloc brake calipers. A new clutch and flywheel were reportedly installed under prior ownership in 2013 along with an upgraded LN Engineering IMS bearing. More recent service is said to include new CV boots, front brake pads, rotors, and sensors in February of 2020 as well as a new battery and oil pan earlier in 2021.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, spare tire, jack, air pump, and a clean title. For those in search of a 6-speed Porsche 996 Coupe, this 2000 Carrera 4 is not to be overlooked.
