Welcoming the new millennium and showcasing Porsche’s latest water-cooled 911 model, the Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Millennium Edition was offered for the 2000 model year as a limited production car with 911 examples worldwide. It features Brown Natural Leather upholstery, Dark Maple wood veneers, aluminum-look instrument dials, 10mm lowered sports suspension, 18” 911 Turbo-Look wheels, polished badging, and an individual production number inscribed on a special limitation plaque. This example, #220/911, is equipped with an optional 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and was purchased by the seller in December 2022 with approximately 10k miles driven since. This rare and collectible 996 is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut with approximately 75k miles showing on the odometer.
This 996 has been refinished in black from its original Violet Chromaflair metallic color. It also comes standard with a polished “911” rear model designation, a rear window wiper, dual stainless-steel exhaust pipes, an electric sunroof, and 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels. This example has been fitted with an Aerokit/GT3-style front bumper and side skirts and rides on Bridgestone Potenza RE970 tires. Other equipment includes silver Porsche-branded brake calipers, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, heated power mirrors, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this limited-edition 911 wears Brown Natural Leather upholstery complemented by Dark Maple wood trim, aluminum instrument dials, and a black Alcantara headliner. A “911” badge is located ahead of the gear selector with a serialized limited-edition plaque below. Other equipment includes a leather/aluminum gear selector surround, heated and power-adjustable front seats, driver position memory, a three-spoke steering wheel with Tiptronic shift buttons, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, an onboard computer, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation. The seller indicates the passenger’s heated seat is currently inoperable.
Rated at 300 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque, a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter M96 flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle. The car comes standard with Porsche Stability Management (PSM), an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and fixed 4-piston brakes with ventilated discs. The seller notes Top Gear Eurosport catalytic converters have been recently installed and the oxygen sensors have been replaced.
This sale will include a clean title.

Did you ever figure out what the toggle switch in the frunk is for?
@Idie2fly It functions as it should although it is not frigid. Could likely use a recharge in the next year or so.
Thanks!
Is AC in good working condition

@Idie2fly We have just remedied the CEL, one of the 02 sensors was at the wrong height!
The radio is OEM just does not match the VIN. The door jambs, underside of hood, and all other “shortcut” areas have been painted as they should and I have not seen any corner cut. Lastly the sunroof works great!
Thanks!
What did you say about the check engine light being intermittent ? Do you know the brand of the after market radio. Was the door jambs and frunk hidden areas painted when the repaint took place. ? Any issues with sunroof?
Nice car. Without the Chromaflair it’s just a nice C4.
Bid in the amount of $15,000
It’s too bad the color is no longer Violet Chromaflair. That’s what makes these special editions so special.
@TomSesto Howdy.
We are unaware when the repaint was done. There is also no documentation for IMS work.
The only present issues are an engine code for Cat efficiency, the radio is locked out, and the seat heaters sometimes do not function.
Cosmetically there are some chips, cracks, and scrapes which I show in the video and photos.
Thanks!
Why and who painted? That is disappointing. Any other defects with the car? IMS bearing yet?
Millennium Edition cars are fantastic; I own #842. However, bidders should be aware that this particular car does NOT have the Violet Chromaflair paint anymore, it has been repainted in black. Still a great car and the next owner should be happy with it but it is missing an important part of what makes the Millennium Edition unique.
@PCM, you may want to clarify this in the description.
