Available for auction is this 2001 Dodge Viper RT/10 finished in Race Yellow over a black leather interior. An updated version of the original Viper, the second generation SRII model made its debut in 1996 with new aluminum suspensions pieces, rear-exit exhaust, and an optional removable hardtop. This 2001 example benefits from late-model factory improvements as well as extensive maintenance carried out in recent years including new tires, a clutch master cylinder, rebuilt steering rack, and A/C service. This visceral 8.0L V10-powered analog sports car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Maryland showing just over 22k miles on the odometer.
This Viper comes finished in Race Yellow (PYR) and features a black soft top as well as a painted removable roof panel with “double-bubble” reliefs for racing helmets. The seller notes the left-side rocker panel was repaired and refinished in 2020 during which time the heat shields were also replaced. The rubber surrounds for the removable rear glass are missing, a tear is present in the soft top, and a hole for the trunk lid prop has been filled in. Equipment includes front fog lamps, a rear center-exit exhaust, NACA-ducted hood, and chrome 18″ five-spoke wheels which have been reconditioned and dressed in a set of Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires.
Inside, you will find a black leather interior with air conditioning, power windows, power locks, and an Alpine CD stereo with a JL Audio subwoofer. An aftermarket shift knob has been installed along with carbon-look trim on the center console and instrument surround. Some wrinkles are noted on the driver's seating surface as well as a crease on the transmission tunnel. The hardtop headliner and left-side window regulator were replaced under prior ownership.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 8.0L V10 engine which produces up to 450 HP and 490 lb-ft of torque. In 2000, the Viper’s engine was upgraded with lighter hypereutectic pistons along with improvements to the car's frame. The rear wheels are driven by way of a Tremec T56 6-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip differential. Service since 2018 includes a new battery, rebuilt steering rack, lightened flywheel, a replacement clutch master cylinder, and A/C system service. An oil and filter change was also recently carried out by the seller.

Stopped by to see this beautiful snake and it presents well as the mileage would indicate. Vipers are a rare beast to drive and, in yellow, will draw crowds, thumbs up, pictures, videos, and conversations at the gas station.
