The final evolution of the fifth generation Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), the Nür model was launched in 2002 and named after the famous Nürburgring racetrack in Germany where the Skyline was developed. It was available in V-Spec II and M-Spec versions which both featured an improved RB26DETT inline-six based on the N1 racing engine. Out of 1,003 Skyline GT-R Nür models produced in total, only 285 M-Spec versions were made which came equipped with a revised suspension setup, an aluminum bonnet, and heated leather sport seats. The “M-Spec” designation was made in honor of Kazutoshi Mizuno, creator of the GT-R. This Nissan Skyline GT-R M-Spec Nür is said to be one of only 24 examples to have come finished in Black and was imported from Japan by its seller in April 2023. A highly original and unmodified example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Skylines in existence, this GT-R M-Spec Nür is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 44k kilometers or just over 27k miles on the odometer.

This Skyline GT-R is finished in Black (GV1) and features an aluminum front bonnet, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, an adjustable rear wing, xenon headlamps, clear side marker lights, gold Brembo brake calipers, and factory 18” BBS forged alloy wheels. The car has been refurbished under the seller’s ownership including paint correction and ceramic coating as well as the installation of new OEM headlights, moldings, badges, weather seals, a windshield cowl, and windshield wipers. The seller adds that the car is unmodified and retains all original paint which remains in very good condition apart from some small imperfections on the roof and a blemish on a rear quarter panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, this GT-R is appointed with black leather upholstery and gold stitching on the seats. Accessories include manually adjustable and heated M-Spec sport seats with harness pass-throughs and embroidered GT-R logos, a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a NISMO digital multifunction display, power windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, aluminum pedals, and an original CD stereo. The seller indicates a new OEM steering wheel was installed during their ownership along with a new airbag, airbag cover, lower center console trim, and GT-R branded door sills. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

Distinguished by its gold-painted valve covers, the twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT inline-six features a reinforced N1 engine block, individual throttle bodies, and dual overhead camshafts with four valves per cylinder. Over 330 HP is sent through a 6-speed manual transmission and an ATTESA four-wheel-drive system. The M-Spec model came standard with an electronically controlled active limited-slip differential, Brembo disc brakes, special “Ripple Control” dampers, a stiffer rear sway bar, and an electronically actuated Super HICAS rear-wheel-steering system. The seller notes the engine has been steam-cleaned and fitted with new badging.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “1 of 24 black M-spec Nur’s in the whole world. The “M” in M-Spec stands for Mizuno who was the creator of the GT-R. It is very difficult to find one that has never been modified. You will never find another black M-Spec Nur for sale, especially in this condition. I have an M-Spec Nur for myself that I’ll be keeping forever as I believe these cars will be worth over 1 million dollars in the next few years. I hope this car goes to an owner who knows and appreciates the history of the GT-R.”

@gshibayama top rank did, it’s titled in Arkansas at the moment.

Ca cars as far as I know cannot have skylines unless they are 25 years old.

  • gshibayama (registered bidder) 3 months, 3 weeksago

Gorgeous car. Which state is it titled currently? Suppose the car is not yet CARB certified to register in CA? Which importer handled Federalizations? Thanks!

  • johnanthony 3 months, 3 weeksago

@2002R34 to be fair photo 183 clearly shows a row of spot welds with corrosion coming through the paint; this is a sign of the weld (panels) separating.

@Chi_PT thank you for all these questions I will try to address them one by one for you.

    1) Can you post paint meter readings? Yes Paint meter pictures have been posted showing a standard variance in old cars.

    2) All original paint or any part of the car repainted? The car has all original paint

    3) Can you upload the CarVX? I am waiting on CarVX to be uploaded by end of day today,

    4) How many prior owners? As far as I know this is a 1-2 owner car. Will verify through CarVX

    5) Any maintenance records available? All maintenance records have been uploaded and is in the picture files if you check below.

    6) Was a PPI performed in preparation for this sale? Independent Nissan Specialist took a look at the car , no official PPI was done. I personally have also checked as I have some extensive knowledge on this chassis as working on them for years and personally owning several. The car has 27k miles and is in great condition.

    7) What outstanding or deferred maintenance does this R34 need? NONE

    8) Can you post more detailed pictures of the underside? It looks like there are several parts that show rust. Depending on where this car spent time in Japan, these R34s near the coast historically racked up major rust. (Unfortunately this is all the pictures I have at the moment, all the rust appears to be surface and can be ice blasted away. The car was mostly kept indoors in Japan per previous owner.

@2002R34 - Can you please address my questions?

  • 2002R34 (seller) 3 months, 3 weeksago

@cultcars Hi thanks for the comment, due to the sensitive information on the paperwork you requested I cannot, as mentioned in another comment, PCAR Market has the title document and show and display import paperwork and can verify its authenticity. The new owner will have access to these documents as well. Thank you!

  • eastxlin (registered bidder) 3 months, 3 weeksago

I personally have this driven this vehicle when we working on it in the shop. This thing is legit a time capsule, everything on it is mint & flawless. I personally have not been a fan of R34s until I spent time in this one. The Air Conditioning/steering wheel controls/stalks, shifter, pedals, everything is just simply, like new. It still smells new!

Whoever wins this vehicle will have an opportunity of a lifetime to own 1 of 24 Black M-Spec NURs as if it was new.

  • cultcars (registered bidder) 3 months, 3 weeksago

Absolute stunner of a car. Assuming it's hear on a show and display status -- are you able to post pictures of the import paperwork and title please

  • 2002R34 (seller) 3 months, 4 weeksago

@Sebring159 I’ve s&d 4 cars now, and they have all been very simple to do. Maybe I just got lucky. I’m also a fellow Mj s&d owner so cheers!

  • 2002R34 (seller) 3 months, 4 weeksago

@Third_Pedal once it qualifies you can switch it like any other car that’s 25 years old. The title is like any other title , the only exemption is that this car was imported here through federal approval before the 25 year mark.

  • Third_Pedal (registered bidder) 3 months, 4 weeksago

Once this car qualifies under the 25-year importation clause in about 3 years, will it no longer be restricted under the s&d qualifications? Or since it was imported under s&d, is it permanently restricted to s&d now?

  • Sebring159 (registered bidder) 3 months, 4 weeksago

@2002R34 I have an MJ Mspec nur here under S&D - it was still a pain to do. I’ll reach out to Kim and post back. Going to make a run at the car for a build. Thanks for the info!

  • 2002R34 (seller) 3 months, 4 weeksago

@Sebring159 Thank you for asking due to the sensitive information of the request I cannot publically share that document, however it has been shared with the pcar market team. They can attest to its verification. Thank you for the question!

I can assure this car was brought here legally in April of this year as it qualifies under that exemption.

  • Sebring159 (registered bidder) 3 months, 4 weeksago

Can you post the S&D paperwork? Verifying with NHTSA and will post findings here for others
