Offered for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet finished in Lapis Blue Metallic. Accompanied by an original window sticker showing a total price of just under $100k, this 2002 example was ordered with a premium metallic paint color along with a Metropol Blue full leather interior, optional supple leather seats, the Advanced Technic Package, Design Package, 18” light-alloy wheels, and a Tiptronic S transmission connecting the 3.6L engine to all four wheels. It was acquired by the third and current owner in 2009 at just 35k miles and has since been fortified with a new IMS bearing, water pump, brakes, drivetrain mounts, and more. This Carrera 4 Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Northern California showing approximately 52k miles on the odometer.
This 996 was ordered in Lapis Blue Metallic along with a Metropol Blue cabriolet top. Optional 18” light-alloy Carrera wheels come dressed in Pirelli tires. The all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 is distinguished from other models by its silver-painted brake calipers and rear lettering. A clear paint protection film is applied over the lower hood and lower section of the front fenders, while another layer covering the front bumper had been removed by the current owner. A chip is also noted on the center of the hood measuring approximately ½” long that has been touched up, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted by premium Metropol Blue full leather upholstery including optional heated and power-operated supple leather seats. The optional Design Package (P71) also includes aluminum-look instrument dials, aluminum inlays for the gear selector and brake handle, and stainless-steel door entry guards with Carrera logos. This second-generation 996 Carrera 4 is equipped with a 3.6L flat-six engine delivering up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through an optional Tiptronic S transmission that allows for both automatic and manual gear changes. Service addressed under current ownership includes replacement of the brakes and alternator in 2009, replacement of the water pump in 2011, and installation of new engine mounts, transmission mounts, ignition coils, spark plugs, air/oil separator, and an IMS bearing upgrade kit in 2013. Both front window regulators were also replaced in 2014 along with one catalytic converter.
This sale will include the original window sticker and a clean title.

The front tires were replaced in March of 2021 and have only 1,000 miles on them, the rears were replaced in October of 2016 and have 5,000 miles on them.
How old are the tires? Any estimate on tread life remaining?
