We are pleased to present this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior. Originally sold in Canada at a cost of over $111k (CAD), this 2002 example came factory optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, leather Sport Seats, the Advanced Technic Package, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). After being imported to the U.S., this Carrera was eventually acquired by the current owner in 2021 and has since undergone a major service including new brakes pads, slotted rotors, ignition coils, spark plugs, motor mounts, and a new OEM Porsche windshield. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona with just over 75k miles showing on the odometer.
This Carrera is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features an optional rear window wiper, GT3-style flared rocker panels, a painted Better Bodies lower front spoiler, and a subtle rear decklid spoiler. Some imperfections are depicted throughout the exterior including minor chips on the hood and lower front bumper as well as a blemish on the driver’s side mirror. The front windshield has also been recently replaced with a new OEM piece; additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The aftermarket H&R lowering kit and wheel spacers yield a more aggressive stance to complement the factory 18” Carrera wheels. These wheels are currently dressed in Continental Extreme Contact tires showing date codes from 2020 in the rear and 2017 in front.
The black interior features heated leather Sport Seats as well as the Advanced Technic Package which includes high-pressure headlight cleaners, a Bose audio system, and projector-beam Xenon headlights. An upgraded Kenwood Bluetooth/USB head unit has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges, accessories, and electronics to be working properly.
Updated with a higher displacement for the 2002 model year, this 996 Carrera features a 3.6L flat-six engine that sends up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in approximately 5 seconds while reaching a top speed over 175 MPH. Since purchasing the car earlier this year, the seller brought this 996 to their mechanic and addressed all recommended service items including new brake pads and slotted rotors, an oil and filter change, new ignition coils, spark plugs, and new motor mounts.
This sale will be accompanied by a spare tire and a clean title. Well-presented and with thorough recent service, this 996 is just waiting for a new owner to get behind the wheel and enjoy.

$27,000 offer from Nipomo, CA (93444)
@Mercyhealth Also body kit was not really adding value, maybe even brought it down a bit--mods in general are not a positive for many buyers, as they say it's only original once..
A definite hit to the 996. This needed around 4 to get the clutch and IMS changed. Then it would get a real number.

Auctions fetching more than retail. Wow… even found a convertible with IMS bearing change for $22000. You’re right Luis, it looks like $4000 in. With auction fees and transport, looks like better off buying the $22k convertible…
Bid in the amount of $16,996
Thanks at least I don’t to spend on those. It’s completely different when you are buying car for yourself than when you are buying one to fix, improve and flip. Good luck with the sale.

@luis.seneriz all good info and thanks for your comment/interest - FYI ignition coils and spark plugs were replaced as part of the initial review and maintenance
Once you get there for IMs and clutch you need to do rms. Then two things that fail on these cars frequently secondary air pump and aos. Then other stuff like plugs and coils. Anyway I have a great mechanic and we will figure it out. No I have my driver 3/98 996 coupe. This car would be a project to update and sell. I like the 99’s better than any other 996.
@NewWorldMatt apologize - that question wasn’t for me !
@NewWorldMatt hello and thanks for your question. Are you asking what did I like about the car? If so it’s that it was so well taken care of it has been maintained and very well protected the car feels solid does not rattle is very tight and feels like it’s been cared for - The exterior and paint is a specially nice as well as is the interior - mechanically car also sounds and dries exceptionally. No smoking no motor noise etc.
@luis.seneriz Hi, curious as to what jumps out at you other than IMS & clutch? Thanks in advance.
@RAU940 hello and thanks for your comment
The vehicle has already been imported to the states - as I purchased it from the seller from Washington state - i then had it shipped to me Arizona - it has a clear Arizona title in my name with no liens - you’re good to go for purchase and title for California
Bid in the amount of $15,600
Hi, do you know if bringing this Canadian car to California will be an issue?
Mercy this is a decent car but there are a bunch of issues that have not been addressed. I can see spending $4,000 on those . Anyway I’ll give it a ride.
Bid in the amount of $15,296
I understand your mechanic’s comments regarding the IMS bearing, but I would not be comfortable getting in the car and wondering if “this could be the day”. For $2000 I would sleep better at night with a replacement bearing. That being said, any bid should include that cost.
Bid in the amount of $15,000
Bid in the amount of $11,000
@NewWorldMatt no body talks about bore scoping because they don’t want to. Even though it may be important it’s a bit late to ask.
@Mercyhealth thank you for the comment-
This car is a good one!
@NewWorldMatt no worries- I don’t have knowledge of the clutch being replaced - however it feels solid and it engages in the middle of the pedal throw - going off my mechanics review and expertise - he felt was operating as it should
Thanks again for your reply!
Seems a pity that with about 5 hours left the bid is as low as it is. Hopefully more robust interest will come in the final hours. This is a tastefully modded 996 that just needs a new clutch at 75k on the clock. At that time an IMS mitigation can be performed. Since you’ll be there why not? The front and rear spoiler touches are awesome!
Bid in the amount of $10,750
@bennettmcgregor Sorry, should have asked in my previous comment; I see no evidence of the clutch ever being replaced in the Carfax history. Do you have any knowledge of it ever being replaced? Thanks.
@DanL991TS yes I have my eyed on a 997 S coming from Colorado and don’t have the room for 2 cars unfortunately! - I drove a friends 997 and it really spoke to me !! If I hadn’t found that 997 I’d be keeping this one !
@NewWorldMatt thanks for your comment
I’ll check with my mechanic - I don’t believe so - I asked him to go through the car and do everything he felt was needed - I’ll get back and comment again after speaking with him
Good morning. It looks like you have only owned this 996 for a brief time. Can you tell us why you are selling?
Beautiful 996. @bennettmcgregor Has this car ever been inspected for bore scoring?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Bid in the amount of $5,500
@bennettmcgregor thanks for the info.
@TyStav correct- the IMS hasn’t been replaced - the mechanic stated that with record of use and maintenance and with the amount of miles that the car has been driven, the IMS would likely be lubricated and in good shape versus a bearing with lower mileage / less likely to have been used / oiled he recommended leaving it be
Thanks for your interest!
Bennett- no mention of the IMS. Has this been addressed? Thanks.
Hello and welcome to the auction!
Please let me know if any additional pictures or info is needed and I’ll respond ASAP
Best of luck and thanks for viewing
