We are pleased to present this collectible 2002 Porsche 996 GT2 finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. Representing the most high-performance road-going 911 of its time, this GT2 is accompanied by a $192k build sheet featuring desirable options including the Carbon Interior Package, PCCB ceramic brakes and Sport bucket seats with paint matched seat-backs.  This example is now being offered for auction in exceptional condition showing only 15k miles on the odometer.

The Arctic Silver Metallic finish on this GT2 is stated to be in excellent condition. Showcasing the original factory GT2 body, this 996 is distinguished from other models by its revised front bumper, lowered ride height, lip spoiler and fixed rear wing. The Carfax reports a minor accident in 2002 when the vehicle was new, though the seller notes that there are no issues present.  Yellow PCCB brake calipers are tucked behind factory Turbo Twist wheels which come dressed in Michelin Pilot sport tires.

Inside, you will find a nicely appointed black leather interior that features Sport bucket seats with Arctic Silver Metallic painted seat-backs. The cabin is noted to be in great condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories remaining fully functional.  Along with a factory carbon interior package, this GT2 is accompanied by the following options:

  • Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
  • Cruise Control
  • Black Leather w/Black Belts
  • Carbon Door Sill Model Insignia
  • 3-Spoke Steering Wheel-Carbon/Leather
  • Inner Sill Parts/Release in leather
  • Front Floor Mats w/"Porsche"
  • Dome Lamp Cover in Leather

This GT2 carries a legendary 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine that is rated at 456 HP and 457 lb.-ft of torque.  A 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels making for a 0-60 time of less than 4 seconds and a top speed of nearly 200 MPH.  Robust PCCB ceramic brakes add performance by reducing mass and increasing stopping power for continued driving enjoyment.  Stated to be in excellent operational condition, a clean DME report is also available on this example.  Additionally, all preventative maintenance has been performed throughout the life of ownership and a recent basic service was performed with all maintenance records available.  Showing only 15k miles on the odometer, this GT2 is stated to be in excellent driving condition.

The sale of this highly sought after 2002 Porsche 996 GT2 will include a master key, window sticker, all service records and the original factory books. Sporting an outstanding configuration and well kept maintenance records, this GT2 is an excellent choice for a Porsche enthusiast.

@JPMD $80k for a 15k mile 996 GT2 is pretty light overall. That being said, I suspect the uncertainty of the accident repair was the main reason that the bidding stalled out.

@btonilas Any news on the details of the accident and subsequent repairs. Why did it take CARFAX 16 years to report it? TIA...

Loved the patina of the front lip, LOL! replaced mine 2x! I'll put a bid here since I missed my old one. These cars are happy at the track especially on a long straightaway it's a rocket in stock configuration

  • lennon997 (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

@btonilas Ever paint metered the car? Typically gives some insight. Can usually infer that a bumper has been replaced, etc.

  • btonilas (seller) 3 years, 7 monthsago

@burnrubr I’d gladly provide information if I could get it. It happened two owners ago. It wasn’t reported until long after I purchased. I can do more digging to see what I can find out but that will take time.

  • btonilas (seller) 3 years, 7 monthsago

@Sgraden Tires in excellent condition. Lots of tread remaining and the tires haven’t visited a track. Brakes also in great shape. I cannot say how much remains but can check with mechanic

  • burnrubr (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

I had a low mile 02 I sold 2.5 years ago to purchase an air cooled Cup Car and i'm still in touch with the new owner he recently texted me that he ran the car over 200 mph! It's a special car and next in line to appreciate in value. We need more specs in the nature of that accident though.

  • btonilas (seller) 3 years, 7 monthsago

@JPD I cannot confirm if coolant tubes pinned or not. I have maintained basic service and regrettably to some extent, kept this thoroughbred in a petting zoo. In all honesty, If the coolant tubes have been pinned, it would have been done by a prior owner as it is beyond basic maintenance. Worth considering by anybody who wants to track the car

  • btonilas (seller) 3 years, 7 monthsago

@lennon997 Correct. What I know is this: “accident “ happened during first owner tenure. Stevenson imports, who have serviced the car most of its life, have not noted any observations of significance upon my inquiry. I have had the car to 140 on the right highway and it was as if I were doing 50. I have never tracked the car, or even driven it in the rain. Tires, brakes in excellent condition

  • JPD (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

Have the coolant tubes been pinned?
    Track history?

  • Jdubs 3 years, 7 monthsago

Definitely need all the info available on the accident, what was damaged/repaired, Was there an air bag deployment etc. It is a beauty for sure!

  • Sgraden (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

Hi. Can you please tell me what the condition of the tires, brakes and rotors are ? What percentage of each is left ? Thank you.

  • lennon997 (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

Any info on the accident the car was involved in early on in its life? That was not reported to carfax until 16 years later

  • btonilas (seller) 3 years, 7 monthsago

Thank you bidders so far. This car is in immaculate condition. It is a true beauty and is the last of the non-nanny GT2's that doesn't have all of the electronic driving aids that subsequent models have. It has the raw power and driving features that Porsche is known for without the electronic gadgetry added in subsequent years. Tis' a truly remarkable vehicle.
