The Carrera 4S combines naturally aspirated performance with the body styling, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo. This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S coupe is finished in Guards Red over a Black full leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission, the Bose Surround Sound Package, 18" Sport Techno wheels, Xenon headlamps, 17mm spacers for rear wheels, and more. It also features an IMS bearing upgrade, a new Sachs clutch, Recaro Pole Position Alcantara front seats, Ohlins Road and Track coilovers, Eibach sway bars, stainless-steel brake lines, a Speedtech high-flow cat x-pipe, a Fabspeed carbon fiber air intake, and more. This C4S is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of California while showing approximately 68k miles on the odometer.

This Carrera 4S is finished in Guards Red and features the Xenon Headlamp Package, red Porsche-branded brake calipers, stainless steel tailpipes, and 17mm rear wheel spacers. It rides on 18" 911 Turbo wheels with colored Porsche center crests, new Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS tires, and Tarrett wheel studs. The front lip was replaced with a 996 Turbo lip and the rear wiper was removed and is said to accompany the sale. The seller notes minor imperfections on the front & rear bumpers, three minor dents on the driver's side rear wheel arch, and evidence of a paint touch-up on the rear bumper. The driver's side door is said to have been refinished under previous ownership to repair a scratch. Additionally, a System X ceramic coating was applied by CARFAX-certified Daily Details Garage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report and paint meter readings.

The Black full leather interior features the Bose Surround Sound Package, stainless steel door sills with Carrera lettering, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, and black floor mas with Porsche lettering. Modifications include Recaro Pole Position custom Alcantara seats with red stitching and Guards red painted seatbacks, an OEM 997.2 GT3 RS shifter console, and a 997 Alcantara shift knob. All gauges and electronics are reported to be functioning properly.

The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, driving all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The IMS bearing has been replaced and sound has been enhanced with the installation of an upgraded Fabspeed carbon fiber intake and Speedtech high-flow cat x-pipe. Suspension upgrades include Ohlins Road and Track coilovers, Elephant racing adjustable camber plates, front and rear Eibach sway bars, front and rear Tarrett sway bar end links, and Tarrett adjustable toe links. The suspension was corner-balanced and aligned by Apex Alignment. The brakes feature Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, PFC brake pads, Sebro slotted rotors, and GT3 brake duct spoilers. Maintenance updates include a new Sachs clutch, rear main seal, engine mounts, transmission mounts, and differential mounts, OEM front axles, driver and passenger side window regulators, a driveshaft flex disk, underbody rubber coolant hoses, and an ignition switch. The seller notes oil and filter changes were completed every 2k miles.

This sale will include a clean title, two keys, a toolkit, a spare tire, the original rear window wiper, and factory seats.

The seller would like you to know: “If you’re looking for the perfect Guards Red 996 that’s been built to drive like a GT3 Cup car while maintaining smooth daily driver characteristics and cared for to a T with no expenses spared, this C4S is just what the doctor ordered. With the deep growl of the exhaust and the symphony from the carbon fiber Fabspeed intake, this Carrera 4S will make sure you never reach for the radio. The drive of this 911 is like no other, it glides softly over the pavement during normal street driving and handles like it’s on rails when on the twisty back roads thanks to its Ohlins suspension setup. Overall, we believe this is a wonderfully built, driven, and maintained car, and embodies the true essence of Porsche.”

@jagtampa53 the car has not seen any official track time or auto cross time.

  • jagtampa53 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Was this car tracked or autocrossed

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@BigPCarGuy Yes spoiler functions properly as well and the car is at our storage, If I can get down there in the morning early enough I will take a video for you but I can attest to its function as I've noticed it rising in the rear view mirror when driving the car while filming.

  • BigPCarGuy (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Great to hear. Is the retractable rear spoiler fully functional? Would you be able to post a video of the spoiler moving up and down?

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@BigPCarGuy There is no black foam blowing from the A/C vents, and yes the cup holder works great, opens swiftly, and has plenty of spring action and holding power to keep a cup/can or bottle in place at higher speeds and over bumpy roads.

  • BigPCarGuy (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Is there any black foam blowing out of the A/C vents (a problem inherent to the 996 generation)? Also, to make sure (as I did not see a photo in the gallery), does the cup holder above the climate control unit and below the center A/C vents open and close perfectly?

@Skelly The IMS bearing was purchased in 2017, 2 owners ago, and the invoice can be seen on photo number 230. The bearing was given to the next owner (now the previous owner) and he changed it in September of 2020 along with the rear main seal, Sachs clutch, and Ohlins suspension. The brand of the IMS is EPS (European Parts Solutions) and it's an upgraded version. As for the mileage of the car when it was replaced I will confirm with the previous owner and get back to you soon.

  • Skelly (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

How long ago was the ims replaced/how many miles since the work was done? Was it a stock ims or an upgrade?

@artichoke the car has not seen any official track time just used on weekends and driven on back roads. The clutch was replaced with a Sachs clutch by the previous owner about 2 years ago and has lots of life left. At the moment there are no repairs needed just a good driver!

    Any track time?

    Original clutch?

    Any repairs needed?

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Nice car, the brake noise will get bothersome after a while. Nice that the original seats are included in the sale. To whoever buys this car, if you want more performance remove the fab speed intake and get a 997 3.8 Carrera S airbox. GLWTS

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@Maxoverdrive No problem! And yes the dents are small enough that they can be removed without any paintwork, the fender liner would have to be pulled off and the dent worked out from the backside. Will most likely cost you around $300-$400.

  • Maxoverdrive (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Thank you very much for the same day response. In your opinion, can the dings be accessed and fixed with paintless dent removal? Again, thank you for your time.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@Maxoverdrive It is really hard to tell and hard to capture in the photos, the best photo we have of it is in the gallery and is photo number 75.

  • Maxoverdrive (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

    @heritagegruppe
Beautiful car and excellent presentation. Is there any way to get close up photos of the 3 dings on drivers rear lip. Hard to find in the photo album. Thank you for your time and good luck.

@BigPCarGuy PPI uploaded to the gallery from TRE:

As for the concerns written at the top, all of them have been addressed prior to our listing and are written below:
    1. Paint meter readings on the driver door have been uploaded to the gallery. After speaking with the previous owner of the car he advised us that the door was scratched at one point and he had the body shop repaint the door to match the original paint.
    2. Rear alignment - TRE did a visual inspection of the car on the lift and as you can see in our undercarriage photos the camber adjuster mark on the passenger side looks off and this is what they based it on without putting the car on an alignment machine. After speaking with the seller we were advised Apex Alignment had made a final adjustment after they marked it and did not remark it afterward, so we took the car to an alignment shop and ensured that the alignment was correct on the car and it is. The car drives straight with no pulling to either side under acceleration or hard braking.
    3. Coolant is a little low - Since TRE was the last shop to do coolant work on this car, we were advised that there are no leaks and that it just needed to be topped off due to air bubbles surfacing, which it was.
    4. Airbag light - This was due to replacing the stock seats with the Recaro seats and has now been cleared and the light remains off with no problems to the airbags.

DME readings can be seen at the bottom, which was the same information posted by us prior and has no further information regarding when the last time it was in range 2. Dave the owner of TRE was kind enough to let me know that this car was kept very well and runs really strong with no mechanical problems whatsoever. He has also advised us he is open to talk to any potential bidder to confirm all the information so feel free to give him a call if you'd like! They have an amazing reputation and were the shop that helped build the first-ever Singer Porsche.

Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.

  • BigPCarGuy (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

With the DME report showing 7 range 2 ignitions, do you know when the last range 2 ignition was? Can we get a picture uploaded to the gallery of the DME report?

@BigPCarGuy No problem! And yes my apologies, they are the regular heated seats, not the sports seats.

  • BigPCarGuy (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

@heritagegruppe My apologies on not seeing those photos. Looks like they are the regular Carrera heated leather seats. Thank you for the response!

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@takjak2 It's definitely not a Mezger, just trying to relate the driving to something people can understand. More so a GT3 touring car with an AWD system.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

@BigPCarGuy Thank you, as for the fees, we do not charge the buyer any fees, the buyer is only responsible for paying the PCarmarket buyer fee. The original sport-heated leather seats will be included with the sale as well, they are in great condition and can be seen in the gallery.

  • takjak2 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Suspension and exhaust do not a Cup car make. Maybe start with an AWD delete? Nice C4S, but it's no Mezger.

  • BigPCarGuy (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Great looking car. Looking forward to this auction. A few questions:
    1. Are there any buyer fees / dealership fees required to be paid after sale to Heritage Gruppe?
    2. Are the factory seats included with the sale a set of regular Carrera seats or Sport seats?

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 7 monthsago

Thank you for the kind words! We’re excited to get this car to its next caretaker. This 996 comes with invoices and documentation from the past 3 owners and is definitely a prime example.

  • GeronimoP 7 monthsago

Wow this is a good one. Clean car, well deserved photography and write up. Tuning in, good luck with sale!

  • Bilinski4447 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Hi all, this is G with Heritage Gruppe, we're proud to present this gorgeous Guards Red 996 C4S on behalf of our client, and are here to answer any questions you may have!

We've had the pleasure of spending some time driving this 996, both a few years ago when it used to belong to the previous owner and one of our friends, as well as recently while doing our White Glove Service for the current owner. Overall, this is a fantastic example of a 996 C4S, very well maintained and tastefully modified to enhance its driving feel and aesthetics. This C4S has recently undergone a full PPI at TRE Motorsports, and passed the PPI with flying colors and nothing but good things said by the owner of TRE, Dave.

Paint meter readings are provided in the gallery, and DME readings are listed below:
    Range 1 Ignitions - 23758
Range 2 Ignitions - 7< No damaging over revs

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions, and happy bidding!
