Up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera Targa finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black standard leather interior. Representing a very small portion of the total 996 production run, the seldom-seen Targa model offers a sliding glass roof system that provides a unique driving experience. This 2003 example was sold new from Hoffman Porsche of Connecticut with options including heated seats, 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a shifter and brake handle trimmed in carbon fiber and aluminum. In January of 2019, this 996 was treated to a major service including installation of a new clutch, flywheel, air/oil separator, and a direct oil feed IMS bearing solution from LN Engineering. Currently showing just over 37k miles on the odometer, this 6-speed Carrera Targa is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This 996 comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on factory optional 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels in a custom dark grey finish. One small ding is noted on the passenger-side front fender and the seller describes the exterior to be in otherwise excellent condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The wheels feature optional colored Porsche center crests and are currently dressed in a set of Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires.
Inside, the black standard leather interior is complemented by an exclusive shifter and handbrake lever trimmed in carbon fiber and aluminum. Other features include automatic climate control, power accessories, heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a sliding glass roof system with an opening glass rear hatch and retractable sunshade. An upgraded Pioneer touchscreen head unit has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional. The A/C was recharged in January of 2019.
This 996 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. Power is fed to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, providing a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. In January of 2019 at 34k miles, this Targa was brought to the specialists at Werks 11 in Texas for a major service at a cost of over $5k including replacements of the air/oil separator, clutch, flywheel, and rear main seal. An LN Engineering direct oil feed IMS bearing solution was also installed during this time, a corresponding invoice is provided for reference in the photo gallery.

Interesting 996 Targa... interesting spec with the wheels tinted dark (aftermarket?) but not sure I've ever seen the colored center caps with a white background.
