Introduced in late 1996 as Porsche’s premier mid-engine roadster, the Boxster has earned recognition among enthusiasts for its agile and responsive driving characteristics. This 2003 Porsche 986 Boxster S comes finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior and features heated front seats, cruise control, Porsche Stability Management, HiFi Sound, and a Porsche wind deflector. Having remained with one owner before being acquired by the selling dealer, this garage-kept example is now being offered for auction out of New York while showing just over 7k miles on the odometer.
This 986 is finished in the traditional shade of Guards Red and features an automatically deploying rear spoiler and a black power-retractable soft top. Red-finished brake calipers can be seen behind the 17” Boxster S wheels with colored Porsche crests and new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. The seller notes a minor scrape led to a professional repair, and minor imperfections on the hood are present. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Black leather with black floor mats with Porsche lettering. Optional features include heated seats, a wind-deflector, cruise control, a CD compartment, and HiFi Sound. Amenities also include 8-way power-adjustable seats and automatic climate control.
This Boxster S carries a mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This naturally aspirated power plant sends as much as 258 HP and 229 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Porsche Stability Management was equipped from the factory, and stopping power is handled by fixed 4-piston red-painted brake calipers with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The seller states this vehicle previously suffered IMS failure, and TKX Performance Inc. of New York removed the engine which was then shipped to Vertex Auto in Florida for a complete rebuild. Extensive documentation will accompany the sale, and the seller notes there are currently no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, and extensive documentation.

Just to Circe back , this invoice that I reviewed personally prior to buying the car is not with the books and window sticker like I assumed. I believe the seller mistakenly didn’t give it to me. Nonetheless, I am happy to make the sale contingent on the document because in the worst case scenario, the shop, that performed all of work is still in business
The shop is TKX in Huntington NY. They created the motor and sent it to Vertex to complete the job. The invoice was in the tune of $18k. I also personally called Vertex to verify that the upgraded bearing was used on the job. Please bid with confidence, I will get the invoice situation squared away.
@jrward22 @jrward22 sure, it is hard to see in a photo, basically just a few rock chips from driving on the freeway. They have been touched up with the correct Guards Red paint

@11JM Based on quick search on rennlist all 986s have ABS, and none have LSD stock, but it can be added aftermarket of course.
@11JM Thanks. FYI I reviewed the window sticker, but I believe its folded and the side that contains standard/optional equipment is not visible. The CoA is the in the folder and I can't see full buildsheet.
