The Thunderbird rejoined Ford’s model range for 2002 featuring retro styling inspired by the original 1955 version. This 2004 example is finished in Torch Red Clearcoat over a Midnight Black interior with the Partial Color Accent Package and features an optional SelectShift automatic transmission paired with its V8 engine. It was acquired by the seller from its original owner in November of 2022 and has since undergone a brake and oil service. A lifelong California car, this nicely preserved Ford Thunderbird is now being offered for auction showing approximately 27k miles on the odometer.
The styling of the original Thunderbird can be seen in the 11th generation from its egg-crate grille to the chromed windshield surround, hood scoop, round taillights, and porthole rear windows. This example is finished in Torch Red Clearcoat and includes an optional convertible top boot, matching removable hardtop, and 17” 16-spoke machined wheels. A set of 50th Anniversary fender badges have been installed and the original badges are said to accompany the sale. The seller states new Michelin Premier A/S tires were mounted in 2016 at approximately 26k miles. One small scratch is noted on the rear bumper as well as a small scratch on the hardtop and a small nick on the front bumper. The seller adds that all factory VIN tags remain affixed to the body panels, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in Midnight Black with the optional Partial Interior Color Accent Package adding deviated seat centers and steering wheel top trim. Standard features include heated front seats, automatic air conditioning, an Audiophile Sound System, AM/FM stereo, a center storage console with a leather armrest, a power tilt/telescope steering wheel, and dual power mirrors. A small tear is noted at the bottom of the driver’s seat as well as some wear on the bolster. The seller confirms all accessories remain fully functional.
Power comes from a Jaguar-designed AJ-30 3.9L DOHC V8 engine driving the rear wheels by way of an optional 5-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The Thunderbird comes factory equipped with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, independent suspension, traction control, variable-assist power steering, and an engine oil cooler as standard equipment. The CARFAX report shows a lifetime of routine maintenance in California up until 2016 and passed emissions inspections up until 2022. The seller states an oil service was recently completed along with the replacement of the front and rear brake pads, resurfaced rotors, and fresh fluid.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner's manuals, two hardtop care kits, a convertible top boot, and a clean title as well as the factory hardtop, stand, and cover.

@CarNut2 Yes, I have an air conditioned and heated garage, although it doesn’t get below 40 here. I can include 2 weeks of free indoor storage if we meet reserve.

This Thunderbird is ready to drive, with recent Oil change, brake fluid flush, new pads on all four corners, as well as resurfaced really otors.

I was able to remove the hard top this evening and photograph both the parade and convertible top which are in like new condition. Additionally the top mechanism works flawlessly with no funny noises or sounds.
A factory top removing tool is also photographed and included in the sale.

@Bob.Beck8428 When the convertible top is in the down position, this boot goes on top of it. Also called a tonneau cover, if you will. This cover is in superb new condition.
Some also call it a parade boot.
