Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V10 paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission, this 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo is finished in Grigio Altair over Nero Perseus leather upholstery. It features 19” Cassiopeia wheels, power-adjustable seats, xenon headlamps, a vented engine cover, silver-finished brake calipers, Fabspeed Motorsport muffler bypass pipes, and an updated touchscreen Bluetooth stereo. Sold new in Canada, it was purchased by the current owner in 2023 and imported to the U.S. where a full 30k-mile service was recently performed. This Lamborghini is now being offered for auction out of Kentucky with approximately 56k kilometers (35k miles) on the odometer.

Based on the Italdesign Giugiaro 1995 Lamborghini Calà concept car, the first-generation Gallardo was designed by Luc Donckerwolke with sleek angular bodywork, side air intakes, and a vented engine cover. This example is finished in Grigio Altair and rides on silver 19” Cassiopeia wheels complemented by matching Lamborghini-branded brake calipers. The tires are dated from January 2020 at the front and April 2018 at the rear. Other equipment includes xenon headlamps, power-folding mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a rear valence with integrated dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes two scratches on the hood and small paint imperfections on two wheels as depicted in the photo gallery.

The Nero Perseus leather interior is complemented by decorative stitching and features power-adjustable seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and a gated aluminum shifter assembly. Other accessories include an Alcantara headliner, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable mirrors, and an updated touchscreen headunit with Bluetooth connectivity. Some wear is noted on the center console switches and outer driver’s seat bolster.

Rated at 493 HP and 376 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V10 engine drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. The aluminum spaceframe chassis incorporates Brembo brakes with two-piece cross-drilled rotors, double-wishbone front and rear suspension, and permanent 4WD with a viscous traction system. The exhaust has been modified with Fabspeed Motorsport muffler bypass pipes. The seller indicates a new clutch was installed in 2021 within the last 3,500 miles, the brake sensors and steering gear were replaced in 2022, and a 30k-mile service was recently completed along with new fuel pumps and an A/C system recharge.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, Lamborghini work gloves, and a clean title.

@993David is this just a cosmetic wheel lug cover? Surely the bolt wasn’t missing right? I just can’t tell from the picture. Such a great looking car in silver.

@GazDriver The power steering gear was replaced in 2022. I have not had any issues with the power steering pump. If you look under that subject on Lamborghini-talk.com/threads/power-steering-loss/.216208 There is one person who replaced the power steering shaft which is a $50.80 part on Scuderia and is in stock. He replaced it himself in 2 hours. There is another person on the same thread that had the pump replaced long ago under a recall which added a cooling hose which could be the hydraulic steering line you mentioned. He has had no issues since then and currently has over 62000 miles so likely the recall included an updated unit. There is no sagging in the alcantara headliner or shrinkage of any leather, including on the dash, console, doors, A pillars, seats or anywhere else. Let me know if you would like some close up photos of specific areas. The clutch was replaced in August 2021. Please see Gallardo clutch life discussions https://www.lamborghini-talk.com/threads/manual-transmission-clutch-life-numbers.175841/ consensus is 20000-40000. Some have had shorter lives but some are longer. A lot of people chimed in with mileage in the 30s on their original. Mine was changed ~32000 and currently have 35000 on the car. Specifically,
    1. Likely one replaced on the recall. No record from owners 2-3. I am 4
    2. Never
    3. A letter from Lamborghini stating there were no open recalls on the car and it complies with US safety and emissions standards in order for it to clear customs. It was all part of the customs docs. There are no open recalls as of May 26, 2023.
    4. The recall letter was from Lamborghini America, not Lamborghini Canada so Lamborghini America recognizes the car. Im not sure how they do notifications or how many recalls come out on 20 year old cars.
    5. No sagging at all or leather shrinkage as I explained above.
    6. I dont have the original mufflers. They would not fit in the car when I brought it over and did not bother shipping them separately. Yes, I do have the original head unit as well as a set of brake pads
    7. 3 owners in Canada. I am the 4th owner.
Let me know if you need anything else.

    4.

David, couple critical questions that I hope you can answer. Forgive me if I missed these answers elsewhere. The early G’s had issues with recurrent failure of the power steering pump, headliners, short clutch life, and a recall on the high pressure hydraulic steering line.
I’m fairly certain Lambo or Audi did not change the metallurgy of this pump. 1) do you have any notion of how many pumps this vehicle has had in its lifetime? 2) And how long ago did you replace yours? I’m assuming when it failed that you had warning before steering effort increased.

As a grey market car, Lambo and Merc and a host of others have been hostile towards addressing recalls stateside. This VIN is unsearchable in the US NHTSA database, but I see on Lambo’s site that it indeed is subject to the dreaded hydro line failure with has been know to cause fire. 3) Is there evidence of this campaign being addressed? And 4) how did you plan on managing future recalls and getting notification?

    5) How is the headliner hanging in there? Finally, 6) Do you have the original exhaust and head unit? 7) How many previous owners in Canada?

Thank you very much for your attention!

@stealswheels thanks, what is the point of having a screaming Italian V10 behind you if you don’t let it breathe a little. A Lamborghini is not fragile like some of the other Italian platforms.

  • 993David (seller) 5 days, 2 hoursago

@speedfreak31 I just did the 30000 mile service so there is really nothing to do for some time. Tires and brakes are all good so no consumables issue as far as I know. These cars are very robust. Let me know if you need something more specific on the maintenance schedule.

Love that your driving video is actually going all the way through the gears. I cant stand sellers that put up a driving video and never get on the gas and shift at 3,500 rpm.

  • speedfreak31 (registered bidder) 5 days, 13 hoursago

If you were keeping the car, what is the next thing you'd want (or need) to do to it in terms of service?

@Jtsmith89 the odometer is fixed in km and does not toggle km and miles

  • Jtsmith89 (registered bidder) 1 weekago

This is just a general Gallardo question...but can you toggle between KM and MILES on odometer? Or will it only show KM? Thank you!

  • 993David (seller) 1 weekago

@dearolddartmouth @keggy it was a very smooth process. My importer handled everything. I had to get a letter from Lamborghini stating no open recalls and safety/emissions compliance to clear customs and complete Form8501?/HS7. I had no issues at all registering it at my DMV. They converted the km on the odometer to miles for the title. Let me know if you need anything else.

  • dearolddartmouth (registered bidder) 1 weekago

How was your process importing it from Canada? Did you need a letter from Lamborghini or is it already compliant with FMVSS / EPA if sold in Canada
