Up for auction is this 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet automatic finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a removable Cream vinyl wrap.  Equipped with a venerable twin-turbocharged flat-six Mezger engine, this 2004 example also features a performance ECU tune, black powder-coated wheels, an upgraded PCM head unit, and a luxurious black full leather interior.  Having recently undergone a comprehensive 40k mile service along with new coolant lines and tires, this Turbo is said to be in excellent driving condition with approximately 38k miles currently showing on the odometer.  It is now being offered by its seller in Florida accompanied by original books, tools, keys, and a clean title (lien).

The Arctic Silver Metallic paint is said to be in excellent overall condition with a full layer of ceramic coating applied before the removable Cream vinyl wrap was installed.  The seller notes a very small scratch on the driver’s side rear fender which is reported to be nearly invisible under the wrap (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  The cabriolet top is said to be in great shape and the factory Turbo Twist wheels are custom powder coated in black and dressed in new Michelin tires installed within the last 6 months.  This example also features optional stainless-steel tailpipes included as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package.

The black full leather interior features optional supple leather front and rear seats with Porsche crested front headrests, aluminum instrument dials, and metal doorsill model insignias.  Creature comforts also include heated front seats, left seat adjustable lumbar support, and an upgraded Porsche PCM head unit which was installed very recently in addition to a Rennline phone mount.  The power cabriolet top function is currently non-operational, although it may still be opened and closed manually.  All other gauges and accessories are stated to be fully functional and the original PCM unit will be included in the sale.

A legendary 3.6 L twin-turbocharged flat-six Mezger engine distributes 415 HP stock to all four wheels by way of a refined 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission.  A performance ECU tune is said to have been applied as well as an upgraded air filter.  The coolant lines were replaced earlier in 2020 and a comprehensive 40k mile service was performed recently.  Service records are included from the current ownership going back approximately 1 year and this Turbo is said to drive beautifully.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, original books and tools, the original PCM, and a clean title (lien).  With its coveted Mezger engine, noteworthy recent maintenance, and unique custom details, this Turbo is just waiting to enjoyed by a new owner.

The back lid opens up and it unlatches. You just drop it down and press the button again to seal it up. Same with closing it. I will post a video tomorrow. It’s the pistons. It’s about $1,000-2,000 to fix depending on your mechanic.

Could you post video of manual operation of convertible top. Also any estimate and diagnosis of the repair needed to fix. Thanks
