Finished in Seal Grey Metallic over Black leather upholstery, this 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet was purchased new by the current owner and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine. Having been annually serviced by the same Porsche technician since new, this Turbo Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Pennsylvania with approximately 17k miles showing on the odometer.

This 996 is finished in Seal Grey Metallic with a black convertible top and features wide fenders with rear side air intakes, side skirts, bi-xenon headlamps, fog lights, Turbo-specific bumpers, polished dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and a speed-activated rear wing. The car rides on 18” 911 Turbo wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza S-02A tires. The seller states the car has been exclusively hand-waxed under their ownership and the exterior is in excellent overall condition apart from some scratches at the bottom of the front spoiler and on the right rear wheel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Black full leather upholstery including a three-spoke steering wheel and power-adjustable seats with driver memory. Accessories include Turbo-script door sills, black Porsche-branded floor mats, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Bose sound system, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). The seller notes the leather upholstery has been treated with a protective conditioner annually.

Producing up to 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and fixed 4-piston brakes with 330mm cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller notes the car has always been maintained by the same Porsche technician including replacement of the secondary clutch cylinder in 2022 and a new battery installed in 2024.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This owner has had several 911 Turbos in his lifetime. Each purchased new from Autohaus Porsche in Lancaster PA and serviced there religiously by the same mechanic from new to date. Climate control garaged and always professionally detailed, never requiring more than hand waxing.”

    Greetings,
I'm new to the site. Is the car still available?

  • jmorin (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 2 daysago

    Still raining?

  • JWaic (seller) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

@rbrunson- We can do either with this car.

  • rbrunson (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

In AZ a private sale pays no sales tax but if it is a dealer sale you must pay sales tax (8.3%).

  • rbrunson (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

Is this a private sale or a dealer sale?

When considering auction values its best to remember the difference between "weather" and "climate". One rainy day does not make a Monsoon season.

@JWaic Fair enough. We will find out in 7 hours or so. GLWTA. It's a nice car.

@Murphy911- & jmorin- Your market comments are nothing but assumptions and better placed on Pelican Forum than on this auction platform. I am a realistic seller with 47 years of Porsche experience and over 67 cars on BaT.. Every reserve I ever set with BaT or P-car was either approved or set by them. With all Herst's data and desire to receive commission, know they are conservatively accurate.

@Murphy911 Great question. There are a bunch of 996TTs in the DT with large bid-ask spreads. The market clearly peaked a while ago and has continually moved down. I watch at least 30 auctions every day (I'm retired). Unfortunately, some seller's missed it and haven't accepted it yet. This looks like a really nice car, but based on comments in the previous auction I suspect it will suffer the same fate.

How many different places are you going to auction thus off before you lower the reserve

@Emerald-4S- The rear wing motor was replaced under warranty by Autohaus Porsche, the selling dealer.
Rear tires were replaced at 15k miles and the dealer has checked and passed the condition of the tires annually including the last service this past July.
There was a stone that landed there somehow during the drive. I didn't see it as I was stretching my camera arm to take the picture. I assure you it fell off!

  • Emerald-45 (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

I noticed in the CarFax Report that the rear wing was replaced. Was all of the components replaced ,and are the replacement parts OEM Porsche parts?
Do the tires need to be replaced because of wear, age or cracks?
What is with the picture of one exhaust tip with a rock?

  • JWaic (seller) 4 weeksago

@Ralphmason- Porsche used the Metzger designed turbo engine of the past and simply bolted on Water Jackets. These turbo motors were the ones to have. Never had an IMS issue like the normally aspirated 996 motor which was a new design. Turbo motors were considered Bullet Proof.

  • Ralphmason (registered bidder) 4 weeksago

Has it had the ims done?
