This 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a black interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.6-liter flat-six engine. The car was originally sold in the U.S. and was generously optioned with the Xenon Headlamp Package, Power Seat Package, GT3-style flared rocker panels, 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, heated seats, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). It was imported to Canada in 2008 and was purchased by the seller in 2021 with approximately 10k kilometers driven since. Fortified with an updated 997 engine block and IMS bearing, this 996 is now being offered for auction with approximately 123k kilometers (76k miles) on the odometer.
This Carrera is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a black convertible top and features optional GT3-style flared rocker panels, exclusive stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels. Other equipment includes optional bi-xenon headlamps, headlight washers, fog lights, Porsche-branded brake calipers, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The car rides on Continental tires showing production date codes from 2020 in the rear and 2016 up front. The seller indicates the car has been garage-kept throughout their ownership and some minor cosmetic imperfections are noted including slight damage on the rear bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior includes optional heated and power-operated seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, an onboard computer, and a factory CD stereo. Minor wear is noted on the driver’s seat and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller indicates an updated 997 engine block and IMS bearing were installed by a Porsche dealership and the clutch was replaced at 114k kilometers. There are no outstanding service items reported.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Your opportunity to experience the first water-cooled version of Porsche's iconic 911. It is the ideal summer driver where one can enjoy the open air and the wonderful exhaust note of the flat 6 "boxer" engine. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this car and I am parting with it reluctantly as my health no longer permits me to extract the full enjoyment of its performance capability. This car is in very good condition inside and out. IMS bearing was replaced via Porsche factory upgrade to 997 block and bearing. The clutch was replaced at 114,000 km. I have owned this car since August 2021 and have put approximately 10,000 km on it. Has only been summer driven by me and always garaged. The previous owner indicated the same. Full service records from the date of my ownership are available plus a PPI report by a Porsche authorized dealer when I bought it.”

@Woodrm64 @Woodrm64, hi, thanks for your inquiry. I bought the car on the assumption the IMS bearing had not been replaced as the previous owner did not have that information. I took it to my local Porsche specialist shop immediately after purchase and asked them to replace the IMS bearing and the clutch. Upon inspection they found that the "block and the bearing has factory 997 upgrade". Refer to the service invoice dated 09-03-21 that I uploaded to the site. I am sorry I have no information as to when or why this work was done.
Some big gaps in the CarFax report. brings questions. Any insight on this...Fortified with an updated 997 engine block and IMS bearing. Both when and why? Thank you!

@Woodrm64 it was originally sold in the US, so it’s ‘easier’ to bring it back to the states. Since you asked the question here instead of Google-you’ll probably want to hire a broker to help with importing.
@Woodrm64 Thank you for your inquiry. I’m sorry I cannot provide you with a satisfactory answer, since I’m not knowledgeable about US import regulations. Perhaps the US Customs website will give you the information.
How does importing into the US work for a car like this? Fees? Paperwork?
Hello, as the owner of this beautiful 996, it will be my pleasure to answer any questions you have about this car. Thank you for your interest.
