Ushering in the 2000s as Lamborghini's flagship supercar, the Murcielago is composed of striking carbon fiber bodywork around a naturally aspirated V12 engine. This 2005 example is one of only 899 Roadster versions produced in total and comes finished in Giallo Orion over a Nero leather interior and optioned with a 6-speed E-Gear automated manual transmission. Featuring an upgraded exhaust and recent service records for an engine-out service, this rare pre-LP Murcielago Roadster was first registered in Southern California and is now being offered for auction out of Rhode Island while showing approximately 21k miles on the odometer.

The Murcielago evokes Lamborghini’s traditional wedge-shaped profile with a sleek low-slung design by Luc Donckerwolke. The Roadster model’s bodywork was adapted for its manually attached soft top using revised rear pillars and an engine cover inspired by the B-2 stealth bomber. This example is finished in Giallo Orion with matching brake calipers and factory 18” Hercules wheels which were offered exclusively for the Roadster model. The taillights and windows have been tinted, aftermarket dual exhaust pipes are installed, and the car rides on a set of Pirelli P Zero tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Upon lifting a scissor-hinged door, the driver is greeted by a black leather and Alcantara-trimmed cockpit with deviated yellow stitching. A two-tone three-spoke steering wheel features a contrasting 12 o’clock marking and aluminum paddle shifters. Controls for power accessories, the E-Gear transmission, and the traction control system are in the center console along with a touchscreen JVC head unit.

This pre-LP Murcielago is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter Lamborghini V12 rated at 580 HP and 479 lb.-ft of torque. The wheels are driven by a 6-speed E-Gear automated manual transmission and AWD system with a 70% rear bias. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in less than 4 seconds with a top speed of over 200 MPH. The car features an electronic shock absorber system, ceramic disc brakes, and active rear air intake wings for additional engine cooling. Records provided by the seller include a service invoice from August 2022 showing the engine and transmission to have been removed for the installation of a new clutch, flywheel, and rear main seal.

This sale will include service records and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "The car is in impeccable condition inside and out. All required major services have been done totaling approx $45,000."

@Mike1967 "FYI, Arizona law, like here in RI requires before a car is sold it passes an emmisions test. That is where car was purchased."
Yes, my main concern is that the factory headers and cats are still there, along with all the emissions plumbing. And being a California car originally, it was equipped with it unless someone removed that stuff to customized it.

  • HardHitter (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Can you please help address a few questions?

    1. Scanned documents from Highline European all show a date of 8/31/2022 on the top right corner, however, mileage is reported at 19,650, 19,820, 20,750 and 21,127. Are these service documents accurate representation or were these just generated at the request in order to show these services were performed during different dates of ownership?

    2. Is there any documentation, such as charge receipts, to validate these services were actually performed/paid for?

    Thank you

  • mariodesmo (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@Mike1967 - Yea I'm in California, where it all started...

  • mariodesmo (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@Mike1967 - It's on the side of the engine bay. Look below the intake ducting.
On the carbon piece covering the airboxes on the passenger's side.

@mariodesmo don't have original exaust tips. I cannot seem to find the emmisions label however in order to get this car inspected, the took 4 days and 143 miles so it passed. No paint or chassis or work on the car . If you know exactly where emmisions label , I'd be happy to look again. I couldn't find with a flashlight.

  • mariodesmo (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Does this car have the original exhaust, any body or paint work, chassis, etc.?
Please post a picture of the emissions label, located in the engine compartment.
