Marking the inaugural year of the 997 generation, this 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera was delivered new to Brumos Motor Cars of Jacksonville, Florida, ordered in Seal Grey Metallic over a Black standard leather interior. It was optioned with the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, the BOSE High-End Sound Package, and a 6-speed manual transmission. This 997 remained in Florida until 2017 when it was relocated to Georgia and later spent time in Texas before being acquired by the seller in 2019. Showing just under 76k miles on the odometer, this 997 Carrera Coupe is now being offered at auction by its seller out of California.

The exterior is finished in Seal Grey Metallic (6B4) and includes the optional Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, tinted glass, a speed-activated rear spoiler, grey brake calipers with white Porsche script, rain-sensing windshield wipers, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, and polished oval exhaust tips. The seller reports minor rock chips on the front end and some curb damage on the passenger side rear wheel, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 18” five-spoke wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

The cabin features manually adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, the optional BOSE High-End Sound Package, Porsche-branded floormats, Carrera door sill guards, an Alcantara headliner, a PCM infotainment system with navigation, a power sunroof, and full power accessories. The seller notes some common signs of wear on the climate control buttons.

The 997 Carrera is powered by a 3.6-liter M96 flat-six that generates up to 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The CARFAX report shows service at the original selling dealer until 2017, and maintenance performed at specialty shops thereafter. The seller reports that full service was completed in February of 2022 including an oil change.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and some service documentation.

    Couple hours to go folks.
Just added almost $10k in maintenance receipts.
Bid with confidence. Car is the perfect intro to owning a 911.
I cannot imagine 997 manuals will ever depreciate after this.
She is ready for her new owner!

@911lover As far as I understand, if there is bore scoring, replacing the IMS becomes moot at that point. The two are not connected. Further, on the 997.1, I believe that the IMS had a different part used compared to the ones used in the 996.1 and 996.2.

@tonyagc if you take a peek at the carfax you will see the extensive services done.
I also have receipts of suspension maintenance and more I will try to dig up today.
I called the Porsche dealer in Florida and enquired about IMS but the master tech I spoke to did not mention it being done. Unless the car shows wear/score, this is not done.

    Hi,
Very nice example....Could you please offer some highlights on what maintenance has been performed at specialty shops and did that include IMS service and clutch? Any sign of bore scoring?

  • 911lover (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@marcromano Car was pulled from the wash bay and then shot 5 minutes later. But I'll have it detailed for your again after you win the auction.

Would have been nice to have the exterior, interior and engine bay detailed before the listing.

I wonder why some sellers just don't take the time.

    Hello all!
I am very excited to offer this fantastic 911 from my collection.
Car has been nothing but amazing. Drives and shifts like a 911 should.
Has been kept in my climate controlled warehouse on a tender when not driven.
    Good luck to all bidders!
