This launch year 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera Cope comes finished in Black over a matching interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission connected to a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. Under the care of its previous owner, a PCA member, this 997 received upgraded long-tube headers, H&R lowering springs, a short shifter, a third radiator, and 19” Carrera S wheels along with extensive service in the last 5k miles including a new water pump, coil packs, spark plugs, MAF sensor, and more. Showing just over 57k miles on the odometer, this Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.

This Coupe is finished in Black and rides on a set of black-painted 19” Carrera S wheels with aftermarket 15mm spacers and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2017. Upgraded LED headlamp and fog light bulbs have been installed, the brake calipers are painted red, and a ceramic coating has been applied to the full exterior. The seller states the car has been garage-kept throughout its life and only driven under ideal weather conditions. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior includes optional heated leather front seats and updated LED lighting as well as an upgraded stereo system including an Alpine Z928HD head unit and amplifier. The original stereo components and light bulbs are said to accompany the sale.

The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is rated at 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque stock, driving the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. An additional radiator was installed under prior ownership along with a set of long-tube headers, H&R lowering springs, a short shift kit, and an LN Engineering spin-on oil filter adapter. An X-pipe catalytic converter bypass is also included with the sale. Service completed within the last 5k miles includes replacement of the spark plugs, coil packs, water pump, thermostat, MAF sensor, serpentine belt, motor mounts, coolant temperature sensor, expansion tank cap, coolant, brake fluid, and gearbox oil. The IMS bearing, clutch, and rear main seal were also replaced at approximately 48.5k miles.

This sale will include some records, three keys, owner’s manuals, and a clean title.

@PlaPan Just missed your opportunity to get more than the car is worth.

I was interested in the car because the recent work service, but it went passed what I was willing to pay. Pcar is great at negotiating with both buyer and seller, so a deal may still happen here. They have negotiated with me twice.

@BigStatiK - appreciate your feedback on the wheel color - it is really more of a dark gray matte color - it contrasts very well with a black car in my opinion.

  • BigStatiK (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

My lobster claws are powder coated gloss black.
The matte black looks sick, dang.

@vwagcmc - that picture was taken for a very slight ding that is on the upper part above the 3rd brake light (that is not really visible) - I do see what you are referring to in the reflection on the lower part below the 3rd brake light - it is not a dull spot on the paint (there are no dull spots on this car).

I can try to get another picture of that area and post it - if it is significant for you.

@PlaPan. Any reasons why I couldn’t drive this car from NY to Texas?? Thanks

  • PlaPan (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

    @vwagcmc - You are welcome.

Have not has an inspection with a bore scope - to my knowledge that is done on 996/997 cars when there is a problem with a cylinder - low compression/high leak down numbers or excessive oil consumption fouling the spark plug and causing misfires.

I have owned a number of 911's over the years and this a very healthy 3.6 car - no smoke, no oil consumption - perfect oil pressure and temperature - sounds, runs and pulls flawlessly.

This is a great 911 and I am very confident that whoever gets the car will be very happy with it.

Thank you, PlaPan. Have you ever had a bore scope done? Any smoke on a cold start?

  • PlaPan (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@vwagcmc - great question - this model Alpine head unit has a screen that has an adjustable angle - so it is supposed to look and fit the way it does.

As per po this was professionally installed and over $2k was spent when done - it is also reversible so for those that do not care for the features of the modern head unit, the original radio and amplifier are included so if one wanted to make it look like it did in 2005 they can.

  • vwagcmc (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Can you tell us more about the stereo? It doesn't look like it fits quite right in the factory stereo opening.

@callison157 - will get you some additional pictures of the scratch - in the picture it looks worse than it actually is.

If anyone would like to see the car or discuss in detail would be happy to - feel free to contact me directly.

    Hi.
Question about a couple of the pics: Pics 38 and 45 appear to show a scratch on the bumper, but due to the reflection it's hard to tell how severe it is, and it's not visible in any of the other pics. Would it be possible to see some other pics of that, maybe in different lighting and/or indoors?

Car looks great. Thanks in advance.

  • PlaPan (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@JDS - Hi - car has not been smoked in.

  • PlaPan (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

    @twickes40 - thank you.

Will try to get an orr and have it posted.

There is a cold start video posted.

Will get a driving video posted.

  • JDS (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

    Hi PlaPan'
To your knowledge, Is this a smokeless vehicle?

  • twickes40 (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@PlaPlan beautiful car. It doesn’t matter what model 911 you’re selling, an ORR is proof the motor has not been abused. Any serious buyer will want to see this. Also, please add a cold start and driving video for us non local peeps.

  • PlaPan (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@JDS - thank you for the positive feedback, it is a phenomenal 997 - fully sorted and set up very nicely in my opinion.

Currently the car has its original catalytic converters installed (visible in the underside picture of the engine). The cat bypass pipe is included but not installed as mentioned.

I do not have an over rev report - can try to get one if this is of considerable significance to you and you have serious intent on trying to buy the car. I will say this that the car has never been tracked and never been driven hard by the previous owner (who did all the upgrades) or me.

Also, it is a regular carrera not a gt3 or turbo so the orr is not as significant/relevant in my opinion.

Wheels were powder coated a matte gray finish (you can see it when you zoom in any of the wheel pictures).

Also, all the original parts that were removed/upgraded (original headers, springs, radio, IMS bearing etc) are included with the car.

  • JDS (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

You mentioned "An X-pipe catalytic converter bypass is also included with the sale".
Does the car still have the factory catalytic converters?
Can you provide an ORR (over rev report)?
Are the wheels power coated, or painted?
From the pictures the car looks very nice.
