The 996 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S was manufactured in 2005 to mark the conclusion of its generation. It stood out as the flagship model of the 911 lineup, boasting the X50 Powerkit and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) as standard features. This Speed Yellow example is only one of approximately 600 Turbo S Coupes produced and features a Black full leather interior, a power-adjustable sunroof, painted side skirts, and a desirable 6-speed manual transmission with a Sport Shifter. With a comprehensive service from 2021 reflected in the CARFAX, this rare Turbo S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas showing just over 9k miles on the odometer.

The Turbo model features distinctive bodywork with model-specific bumpers, flared rocker panels, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and wide fenders with integrated side air intakes. The Turbo S adds yellow-painted calipers as part of its carbon-ceramic brake system. This 2005 example is finished in Speed Yellow and is equipped with optional stainless-steel tailpipes, and painted side skirts. It rides on factory 18” Turbo wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2019 and 2020. The seller notes a few minor cosmetic blemishes. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is upholstered in Black full leather and includes heated front seats with left-seat lumbar support and a power sunroof. Optional features include a Sport shifter and black floor mats with Porsche lettering. Furthermore, the Turbo S model is distinguished by model designations on the door sills and forward center console as well as aluminum-look instrument dials. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

The Turbo S comes standard with the X50 Powerkit which equips its 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine with larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, and a revised ECU and exhaust system. As much as 450 HP is sent to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Additionally, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) come standard and include larger 6-piston monobloc front calipers and cross-drilled 350mm ceramic discs at the front and rear. The seller notes fluids were serviced upon their purchase.

This sale will include a clean title (lien), owner’s manual, toolkit, and battery charger.

The seller would like you to know: “The speed yellow really pops on this car. I have enjoyed it for what little I've driven it. Hate to see it go but have to make room for others.”

@virtuaframax only reason to have that data in this car would be to check the operating hours.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@JJ.Porsche I bought it without one. Im not saying its not important but buyer will have option to see car in person before they fund.

  • JJ.Porsche (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@seller : really hard to sell a car of this caliper with no paint readings, people are trying to make a purchasing / investment decision. Hopefully you can get paint meter readings in time for us. GLWA, gorgeous machine.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@PorscheGuy32 I was the 6th and 7th. every time it registers in a new state or you put it in a new entity it shows new owner. from what I was told the second owner moved it around to different houses. as I said I registered it then moved to another name so it shows me as 6th and 7th. I was told second owner moved it between Florida and Arizona.

I addressed the paint meter earlier. it is on a third level storage. their forklift is broken. we are working to get a way to get up there. I am trying to get a die and paint meter but cant get to the car at this moment

  • PorscheGuy32 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Paint meter readings? Carfax shows 7 owners, not sure how you bought from second owner.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@JJ.Porsche from what I understand it was a held by the second for 15 years. First owner owned it a few years and sold. Second owner moved it around and used as a weekend car. I bought from second owner.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

    @JJ.Porsche I purchased from sothebys

And it is listed for private inventory with Sotheby’s with some nice photography:

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

All, sorry to disappoint. My car is on the third level of storage facility. Forklift broke yesterday and i couldn't get to car today. Working on figuring out how to get up there tomorrow but cant guarantee a DME. I know this may disapoint some. I've got 9 Porsches ranging from 1989 to 2022. Ive never bought one with a DME. This car with such low miles hard to imagine any issues. I am still trying but want everyone to be aware. I will have limited access to the car until I fugue out a work around. Happy to answer what I can.

Some have asked to see the spoiler go up and down as well as sun roof. Look at service records. If there were any issues it would have been addressed. I have a full 101 pt inspection when I purchase cars.

As for the paint meter, I had paint correction done when I purchased it. As you can see from the pics the paint is very clean and shiny. If any body work has ever been done my guy couldn't tell- and hes very good. His handle is tomato werks on ig if anyone wants to check out whats hes done.

Bid with confidence. This is an amazing car. Low milage. 1 of 6! Doesnt get much more special.

@Thetexican - There are actually only 6 Turbo S Coupes in Speed Yellow/Black with a 6-speed and yours is indeed the lowest mileage with what I can find (by a fair margin, too)

That would make these almost as rare as the new sport classic at a fraction of the price.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@P996C4S I had the car inspected by someone who knows cars when I had it serviced after purchase. I believe he said this had been done. We addressed all shortcoming. I can’t find welded coolant pipes, which he has done on other cars, which leads to believe it has been done.

I have uploaded service records to pcar. I haven’t seen them posted yet but they were uploaded.

@jattilah multiple websites show a total of 600 global production for the coupe. I think I read US was ~30-40% of their market at the time. With those numbers it would stand to reasons 186 total (tip and mt) coupes to US. If this is accurate and there were more tips than manual, I would assume ~90-100 manual turbo s coupes in the 2005 year in US.

I’m no expert so don’t quote me.

  • Mercyhealth (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@jattilah the 186 number was for all turbo S coupes both manual and tips.

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

I have a durameteic cable on the way for dme.

  • jattilah (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Thetexican I think that 186 number is manual coupes. I think more were Tiptronic.

If you open or will own other Porsches, just buy a Durametric cable. Every Porsche owner ships have one. It will do a DME report, among many other invaluable things.

@Fryingpan CPR has a speed Yellow Turbo Tip. Not an S but still...

    https://www.cprclassic.com/vehicles/724/2001-porsche-996-turbo

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Driveitnow01 I am calling around this mining trying to get one. I will get one.

Its is my understanding global production was at 600 with 186 king it to US. Add in manual transmission and speed yellow I would say there are >10 in this combo and likely only one with such low milage. Ive looked all over and haven't seen a listing for another speed yellow turbo s.

I own an 03 turbo x50 and several 997 turbos. The 996 is much more 'raw' and analog. Ive driven my 996 GT3 on the track a few times. The driver engagement on the 996 is second to none.

  • Driveitnow01 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Thetexican the DME is super simple port diagnostic that most all Porsche dealers can and will perform. Many independents have the digital tools as well. Just my thought, but I think the biggest money will likley not come out unless they can see the report.

As for production numbres, some reputable sites show total production numbers for the 996 Turbo S at 598 cuopes and 960 Cabriolets. As for the number that made it to NA or US, I am not sure but I have heard it is likley there are less than 200 996 Turbo 6-speed manuals.

At the risk of being "That Guy", which I probably already am with this post, I can confidently say, since I own a 996 Turbo S manual, that the car is exceptional in its performance. The feedback and engagement for the driver is on a level that you just can't get in the modern 911's. Last manual Turbo S. There will not be another one.

This car is amazing and with the low milage and highly desirable Speed Yellow Paint, it should command high dollars. GLWTA!

Beautiful ride, would look great in my garage, had 01 cab speed yellow, this car is awesome, I wouldn’t love replacing the brakes but I would LOVE is car

  • Thetexican (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Miked2020 I’ve never been able to get one on any car I’ve sold. I don’t know where to do it. It is my understanding this car sat with the same owner in Florida for most of its life being driven to mostly cars and cofffees and weekends. I’ve only put ~50 miles on the car and none on the track. I will see what I can do but no guarantees.

  • Miked2020 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Little more info I found on the car.

“Between the 996 Turbo S Coupes and Cabriolets, rougly 980 examples were built in total, with about two thirds of those being coupes. Breaking down production even further, only 186 Turbo S Coupes were designated for the U.S. market, with the example offered here likely being amongst the lowest mileage examples in existence.”

@1973hp That typically means that the car has a clean title, but there is currently a loan on the vehicle and the seller does not hold the title. The title is held by the entity that issued the loan (bank, credit union, etc.).
