The E85 Z4 M Roadster was introduced in 2006 as the high-performance version of the Z4 Roadster, equipped with an S54 inline-six derived from the E46 M3 along with revised suspension, a limited-slip differential, and larger brakes. and This first-year example comes finished in Imola Red over a Light Sepang Bronze Nappa leather interior and was optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission. This M Roadster was originally delivered to JMK BMW of Springfield, New Jersey, and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 28k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Imola Red (405) with a black convertible top. Equipment includes an M-specific front bumper and kidney grilles, self-leveling bi-xenon headlamps, adaptive LED taillights, and quad exhaust outlets. The 18” BMW Style 224 wheels are mounted with Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2019. The seller notes the convertible top has been treated with a water-repellant product, and the entire vehicle has received an application of XPEL clear paint protection film. The film has begun to peel away towards the edge of the trunk lid and leading passenger side fender. The seller also notes the front fascia shows a small crack on the driver’s side and two indentations from a front license plate bracket. The interior features power-adjustable and heated sport seats upholstered in Light Sepang Bronze Nappa leather as well as Madeira Nutwood trim lining the center console and dashboard. M-specific details include a three-spoke leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with inner tri-color M stitching, M-branded instrumentation, M door sill guards, and a lighted M shift knob. The driver is supplied with a pop-up navigation screen, automatic climate control, a CD AM/FM stereo, black floor mats, remote keyless entry, cruise control, and a THX-certified 10-speaker audio system with two subwoofers. The seller notes some minor scratches to the steering wheel, navigation screen frame, and some light wear on both seats.
The Z4 M Roadster is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline six-cylinder engine rated at 330 HP and 262 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller reports a recent oil service and replacement of the air filter and states the previous owner had replaced the brake pads and differential fluid prior to the seller’s acquisition earlier in 2022.
