Built at GM's Bowling Green plant based on the sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette, the Cadillac XLR was a luxury two-door roadster produced from 2004-2009 featuring a retractable hardtop, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and a Northstar V8 engine. The high-performance XLR-V version was introduced in 2005 boasting a more powerful supercharged engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission, 19” wheels, and larger brakes from the Z51 Corvette. This 2006 example is finished in Light Platinum over Ebony leather upholstery and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania with approximately 8k miles showing on the odometer.
Like the contemporary Corvette model, the Cadillac XLR is based on GM’s Y-body platform and uses lightweight composite bodywork. This example is finished in Light Platinum and rides on factory 19” multi-spoke polished wheels dressed in Pirelli tires. Other equipment includes a chrome mesh grille, xenon headlights, front fog lights, LED taillights, rear parking sensors, leather-covered roll hoops, recessed door handles, and polished quad exhaust tips. The cabin is appointed with Ebony leather upholstery accented by wood trim and suede microfiber inlays on the door panels and seat centers. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, a head-up display, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, keyless entry, pushbutton start, Bulgari-branded instrumentation, a navigation system, and a 6-disc CD changer.
The XLR-V is equipped with a supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8 engine rated at 443 HP and 414 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed 6L80 automatic transmission, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.6 seconds. The car comes standard with Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension, speed-sensitive power steering, and cross-drilled disc brakes derived from the Corvette. The seller notes the battery was replaced in May 2023.
