A generation favored for its visceral driving characteristics, this Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.8-liter engine. It comes finished in Carrara White over a Sand Beige interior and features the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sport Shifter, Bose High-End Sound Package, and instrument dials in Carrara White. Sold new in California where it was maintained by Hoehn Porsche until 2014, this 2006 Carrera is now being offered for auction out of Florida with just over 61k miles on the odometer.

This Coupe is finished in Carrara White and is distinguishable as a Carrera S by its red-painted brake calipers and quad exhaust outlets. Factory 19” Carrera S wheels come dressed in a set of Bridgestone Potenza tires. Some stone chips are noted on the front end, a spot of tree sap is shown on the rear decklid, and the headlight lenses require refurbishment. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Sand Beige interior is factory equipped with the optional Power Seat Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, a Sport Shifter, and instrument dials in Carrara White. Some signs of wear are depicted on the driver’s seat, door panel, shift knob, and ignition surround.

Rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states the spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced in May 2022 and the CARFAX report shows routine maintenance by Hoehn Porsche until 2014 followed by subsequent services in Illinois and Florida.

This sale will include a clean title.

Whoops -- my bad, I thought that THIS car went to Rennwerke. Anyway, if you're anywhere in the vicinity of Elmsford NY, that's the place to take your Porsche . . .

Agreed regarding the IMS @211Broadway, especially with the mileage

  • dhdickson (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@211Broadway Yep. To others in the chat -- Cheech, the owner of Rennwerke Porsche, is a Porsche-whisperer, if there is such a thing. My 997 is on Cape Cod -- I drive three hours just so he can work on my car. If he's had his hands on this car, you can bid with confidence.

I would not worry about the IMS in this car for sale at all.

  • 211Broadway (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Regarding the IMS question in thread below. I have a 997.1 2005 and the IMS cannot be replaced without taking the engine apart. It has a larger bearing. My mechanic (and Jerry Seinfeld's same mechanic) confirmed this when he recently replaced the clutch.

@GT3-guy Actually several 2006 Cars had engines from 2005 so that is how it is possible. To your point, if you purchased a 2006 after say June of 2006 probably safe. I did a ton of research to find all of this out.

  • GT3-guy 1 year, 5 monthsago

2005.5 was the cutoff. An easy way to tell straight away is the smaller bearing had 13mm nut, the larger bearing was a 21mm granted it needs to be apart. Never heard of a 2006 with a small bearing…

  • Crummer (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@GT3-guy Actually depending on when the engine was produced you may or may not be correct. The 2007 definitely had the newest bearings but some of the 2006 models did not. I specifically bought a late 2007 to ensure the bearing was the last version, and never had a problem . Worth checking which one is installed.

@Restaurantman You cannot replace the IMS in this model year unless you disassemble the motor. 200.5-2008 911/cayman/boxster…

  • RallyBird (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Restaurantman We do not have any records on the clutch or IMS. The assumption is that both are original.

  • Restaurantman (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Do you have service records on clutch, and any IMS issues? Thanks
